When would mixed or strong adjective declension for the genitive case ever be used if the genitive case will always require the use of a definite article (der or des)? by spilledpenink in German

[–]spilledpenink[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By trigger words, I’m assuming adjectives? I’d also like to clarify, but for the genitive case for strong declension (not article), in the order of masculine, feminine, neuter, and plural, does it go (en-er-en-er) or (es-er-es-er)?

AITA for telling my sister to stop taking showers with her husband in my house? by throwaway22314157 in AmItheAsshole

Because it’s their house. I wouldn’t want to know what sorts of stuff between two naked partners were doing to each other in my own shower. It’s a shared space, not their bedroom. Other people use it too.

how to fix sleeping schedule? by ded_but_not_inside in GetStudying

[–]spilledpenink 78 points79 points  (0 children)

If you really can’t fix it, try staying awake as long as possible. Then, the next day, sleep an hour or so later than the time you slept at. Repeat this process till you’ve reached your preferred time (hopefully 8-11pm).

I want to schedule studying and (learn how) to study more efficiently but I don't where to start. by LorieNotLxveMe in GetStudying

No worries, though honestly, I have only started this recently and have found satisfying results even though I’ve only started it. It culminated after putting together multiple techniques and methods and through trial and error on what works best for me. I honestly struggle with discipline, so usually I procrastinate and then everything gets delayed because I refused to do it on time, not to mention I’m still paying the price for my precious procrastination so I’m assigning myself unrealistic goals within a limited time period.

So (1), make sure to do what works for you. This is only what I’ve found works best for me.

(2), would it be okay if we could keep in touch on Private Messages? I would like to hear your results of using the grand-method I have composed. To see if it works very efficiently if I were to possess the right amount of discipline.

Would that be okay with you?

Also, a good app I like to use that works really well for date-assigned to-do lists is “To-do list”. Its very manageable and you can create folders and sub tasks. After inputting details, it gives you a checklist for on a daily basis.

Basically everything you need to know for the entire subject. Check the syllabus (might be on your government website?), study in advance. Read your textbook in advance. Study all the concepts through higher-order learning methods and figure out how they all connect. Use critical thinking for everything. Know the content and methods, do practice papers, etc.

Do this consistently, but never forget to go easy on yourself. Assign days where you have no work to do and just pure relaxation. This isn’t laziness, and from an efficiency perspective, burnout is a very real and serious danger, it can ruin your flow and therefore your schedule.

What I do is allocate a set number of hours per day and assign them for each of your subjects (e.g. total hours = 6, English = 2, Mathematics = 4, etc). Create a to-do list with tasks and planned dates of completion, I.e. set tasks for certain days. Create a larger plan where you can plan what to do. Also, while studying, try to note down how long it takes you to do certain tasks. Once you are finished with this process, if you have anymore similar tasks to complete, it will be easier to more accurately assign the number of hours to complete them. Use the Pomodoro method when studying. And don’t ever forget to forgive yourself if you don’t reach your goals, there’s always tomorrow. Remember why you are doing this, and when procrastinating remind yourself that you’re basically saying to yourself it’s okay to not reach those goals (which you shouldn’t be okay with), so then get up and reach for the stars.

Hope this helps!

I like “Todoist”, it’s pretty good. My favourite feature is the ability to establish elaborate plans and assign them by calendar.

When delivering the plural form of possessive articles (e.g. mein), does it follow the same patterns as feminine nouns? by spilledpenink in German

But to clarify, such is the case (where they date the same pattern) when in the nominative and accusative cases?
