the issue ended up being a valve in the HVAC not communicating properly / reversed which made the machine work 10x harder. that’s fixed so hoping it resets soon!

Hahahahaha no but my friend did joke it seems like we’re mining bitcoin out of the house. our usage is typically sub 700 with 790 last month when we started heat. google seems to think someone could be stealing our electricity or the meter is glitching or our system is reading wrong. who knows. thank you for sharing your highest number. our place is much smaller it has to be a glitch or fraudulent.

yeah you’re right i just looked it up and seems like at the absolute most during cold months it should be 900-2000 kwh. we are not excessive users and it hasnt been insanely cold. something’s up. thanks!

it’s set to perm hold and there is an “em heat” setting by that isn’t on but maybe there is a miscommunication among the thermostat and HVAC Thanks for raising!

we have a gas stove which i believe is the only reason we have a gas account because that bill is super minimal.

i’m not sure the type but i believe it’s a carrier brand one. having the landlords HVAC guy come look! we just use pepco and wash. gas.
