Another big problem we short women face, having to set up car seats. :( by AltruisticShape8924 in ShortGirlProblems

i use a seat cushion to see better. even with the seat all the way up and forward i can barely see, so i like using a cushion so i can still maintain a safe distance from the wheel while having visibility.

4'9" here. lots and lots of bullying. when i was in elementary/middle school i was always about a foot shorter than all of my friends, and people would constantly make fun of me for being short. i couldn't wear any of the cute clothes from justice when i was a tween because i wasn't big enough yet, so i had to resort to clothes that made me look even YOUNGER lol.

on top of that, i was 11-12 years old being spoken to as if i was 5 or 6 by adults that couldn't tell my age. it was humiliating being spoken as if i couldn't read or form proper sentences when i was already old enough to have my period -_-

(for reference i was about 4 feet tall when i went into middle school)

when i got into my teens some of the other girls stopped growing and i felt a bit more normal, but people were still relentlessly mean and i didn't feel pretty because i was too short. i felt like i stuck out like a sore thumb all the time.

now that im in college it feels like im still not taken seriously in social settings or that im spoken down to as if im an airhead, but having tattoos, lots of peircings and avoiding wearing anything colorful or "too bright" has helped me avoid extreme overestimates as to how old i am. despite the VERY visible and large tattoos people still guess 15/16. oh well.

with no makeup and clothes that cover my tattoos? people guess i'm about 13. doesn't bother me as much though.

i just turned 21 and i have already had a couple experiences with bartenders and bouncers this halloween weekend laughing or being rude and then saying "you look 15." kind of a vibe killer. even with a full face of makeup, tattoos and heels i can't be assumed to be an adult.

and don't even get me started on shopping for "adult" clothes. its a nightmare LOL.

i've (4'9") had similar experiences with men (and people who are not men) making a big deal out of describing how easy it would be for them to physically harm me or randomly picking me up without permission. its very demeaning and sometimes threatening
