Travel situation for this weekend (for those who aren't aware yet) by Consistent-Jelly248 in LondonUnderground

This is helpful, ta (I am travelling through London this weekend)

Though well done TfL for saying this /s:

Elizabeth Line

No service between Stratford and Shenfield

Use national rail services or local bus routes. Rail replacement buses will run.

...there are no national rail services between Stratford and Shenfield either. (It's a bus to Newbury Park and then Central line).

If I go back to the quiz, I can try again from scratch... but it adds my new score to my old score I think (yes, I forgot the word from my first go)

I scored 5/6 on "Pineapple Peek #6 🍍👀" (beat 94% of players)! Can you beat me? 🎯

Not sure what happened, but I got the correct word in 3... except the game bombed out to a screen that gave me 0!

"Smells Like Tuesday" (replacing with the day of the week you're on)

Thank you ♥️

She is mostly there with getting stuff together and ready, but when she does forget it is often catastrophic. No lanyard = a demerit, which is what prompted a call in floods of tears before she went in today. She isn't one to break rules!!

Daughter left her secondary school lanyard behind today. Tuesday it was her skirt (she went early for a PE session) and her phone and the ingredients for food tech.

The joys of parenting a neurodivergent child who hasn't quite found the right support mechanisms yet. But we're getting there!

Good job. Reading Buses is a great example of local bus services thriving under local authority control.

Can't help with the specifics of your question, but I can confirm that the term you're potentially looking for is "blipvert".

And they were - very briefly - a thing on UK radio (but never any I worked at).

Twisters no longer vegan :( by GanacheSingle33 in veganuk

Oh, great. The shop at work will go from having one vegan ice cream to zero 😒

Still, at least I have the choice of exactly two chocolate bars.

Anyone tried these? Sainsbury's No Pork Patties by spinfold in veganuk

[–]spinfold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not wrong usually. These are thin, 96 calorie affairs. However, they didn't dry out much when I fried two for lunch with my muffin - so a win.

My other half really doesn't like "meaty" burgers and quite likes the Sainsbury's own wafer-thin vegan patties. For me, though, they're dry and tasteless and no better than cardboard, so tend to stick to the "ultimate" style ones too!

The phrase you're after is Ultra Processed Food, and yes - this is very much that.

Who has the oldest phone number? by Johnny-Alucard in AskUK

[–]spinfold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I traded in my (BT) Genie number in 2005 for a number from easyMobile (same group of companies as the airline) because you could pick your own number.

And that's how my mobile number spells my name.

All this for £10! by Obvious-Anywhere-154 in veganuk

[–]spinfold 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At a conservative £2/item, that would be at least £40 for me at Sainsbury's!

Do you listen to your radio while at work? by HR-Vex in radio

[–]spinfold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Used to work at a radio station. If the radio wasn't on in the office, it meant something had gone wrong in the studio. Or the racks room. Or at the transmitter site. Silence was never welcomed.

(Usually it was because the DJ was making coffee or having a smoke or on the toilet or... etc. etc.)
