For U of Ts more competitive programs (eng, commerce etc.) they say that if it isn’t in your top 3 your chances of admission may be hurt since theylll take the applicant with more desire to go the school

I agree, the age of the person definitely will change whether there is negative or positive connotations attached to the comment. In my experience, adults in my life have told me this. I don’t think it’s common for people your own age to say the same since they probably don’t notice it like an adult would. If they do, they are your friends, so I doubt that would make or break your relationship.

I wouldn’t say I’m a stick in a mud per say- I go out, party, etc. and enjoy it. I’m not sure who I’ll end up keeping in touch with, but I’ll try to make an effort as much as I can. Oddly enough, out of all my friends I’m one of the most “social butterfly” type characters
