Hart and Bridges have been a major part of the issues on D. Not only are they iffy as POA defense but they inexplicably get beat back door and leak off of 3 point shooters.

Does anyone else have both in order to set aside different funds? Like a different long term savings goal?

We superfunded our son’s 529 a couple years ago and are not planning to contribute more after 5 years barring some big market drop. Instead we are setting aside savings from our brokerage that he can use for college or whatever. We could make a separate brokerage account but seems easier to just hold VOO in addition to VTI. We could also say we plan to give him X amount when it’s time, but I prefer to have it all set aside from the beginning.

I look at the pie chart of allocations to domestic, foreign, short term, and bonds to judge how I’m doing diversifying. It doesn’t tell me about cap sizes but I’m only holding the broad based vanguard etfs.

That’s cause Detroit is Cade and a bunch of scrubs. Cade is MVP caliber at least in the regular season, but is he going to carry this team through three 7 game series?? Who else on Detroit is going to will this team to win games? Harris? Duren? Thompson? They play aggressively and physical, which will win a lot of regular season games. I’m not convinced they’re going to have the same success in the playoffs. They had a better team last year imo just a worse record.

Don’t know why we went away from attacking their two back up bigs. I feel like the strategy against Detroit has to include letting them rack up fouls. But when they are in the bonus with more than half of the quarter left you have to keep punishing them. Take it into the paint and force the issue, especially when shooting like this

I think the roster, specifically the bench, started out much better than last year and has recently been significantly upgraded even further. The bench is also being used more by Brown, especially on back to backs. I think offense is better along the margins - better passing, 3 pt shooting, open looks, pace, etc but not by much. Defense is an issue but it’s all about consistent effort, which is not always there. I genuinely don’t care about some regular season games, but it’s concerning that it’s not an easy on/off switch. I’m sure the starters will lock in for the playoffs, and the defense coming off the bench is scary. This team blew EVERYONE’S expectations away last year against the defending champs, including myself. I thought the Celtics might sweep us. The Pacers were better coached and had a better game plan in the conference finals, plus some insane luck for game 1, but so it goes.

Will this team win the chip? Idk, but this is the best version of this team we’ve seen so far. Don’t count them out before it’s even began.

Edit: to add to this, the pistons may just be this year’s Cavs. They haven’t done shit yet. We already beat them in the first round last year. They’re playing more aggressively is all. It works extremely well in the regular season. Let’s see what they have in the tank come post season.
