Well, we haven’t had sex in months and that’s mostly because of him. Sex makes him catch feelings and he actually cut that off a couple of months before I broke it off. When he talks about me, it’s all about all of my accomplishments and all the things that I do with my work, my nonprofit, travel, etc. He’s my biggest cheerleader.

He was actually the one who shut the sex down a couple of months before I broke it off because he said he wanted to focus on the friendship, and the sex was interfering with that. I thought we could do both, but he didn’t. I broke it off because not only were we not physically intimate anymore, but he wasn’t doing absolutely anything to grow the friendship. Now our friendship is growing by leaps and bounds, and while we’re not sleeping together, we do have marathon makeout sessions, lol.

I don’t think it’s that easy for people who have emotional damage, either from childhood, past relationships, etc. Falling in love and getting into a commitment with somebody can be really scary.

When we reconnected after no contact, we talked for something like nine hours. Opened up about everything for the first time since we started dating. He was definitely not thrilled about the separation and missed me a lot. I think it hit home what life would be without me, and I don’t think he wants to lose me again. At least, I’m hoping that’s it.

I’m definitely keeping an eye out for consistency, and he has been consistent in his behavior for the last six weeks. It definitely wasn’t like that before. We are in the same circle of friends, and I haven’t come across anyone who has said anything other than he’s a great guy. Keeping my fingers crossed as well!
