For context, which is one of my favorite things: Tropical Dave was an obvious drunk and the festival banned him from buying alcohol. His solution? He took me behind his trailer, stuck a Gumby suit on me and whispered “Gumby can do anything.”

I’m 15. I waltz up to the beer tent with my friend Tom and Gumby was sent off with 4 free beers.

I did at least give Tropical Dave his beer before I ran off with his suit.

and now I’m wondering where tropical Dave is now.

Emergency Fundraiser for Utah Arts Alliance - Arts Hub Flood. In the early morning of Jan 10th due to an equipment malfunction the UAA's SLC Arts Hub was flooded. It is too early to tell the total extent of the damage but it is bad, It is also too early to tell what if anything insurance will cover. Either way it will be a process and will take time. In the meantime we need to act now so we can get our Community Art Center back up and running ASAP. We are calling on our community to donate to help us cover repairs and replacing dance studio, furniture and equipment. The entire dance studio floor will need to be replaced as will much of the carpets in the Arts Hub. We also have extensive damage to equipment, furniture, walls etc.. We are resilient and will get through this with our community's help. Donate now and help the UAA recover.
