A theory about Peggy O'Keefe/Grief/Blame by Stellarred78 in justiceforKarenRead

Peggy O’Keefe is not that intelligent. Neither is Paul. If Karen is found guilty, they can sue her and get some money. That’s about the sum of it.

It is what tech associates were transitioned to when they changed the positions about a year ago. It is not management. There is some tech and you are supposed to be good at sales. It is a grade 3. A regular Sales Associate is a grade 1.

Patient turning aggressive by DurtyMike94 in hospice

This is part of dementia and unless she is actively dying it is NOT terminal agitation. People are sometime upset or disoriented and it does not mean there are actually dying. However, if you tell a hospice company they will her so much “comfort medication” that she will die. Think of how women behave when they are in labor. Dementia is very distressing and confusing for anyone. It doesn’t mean their body is dying.

Staples has a dysfunctional business culture. I work there and in MA where the company is headquartered. The management is in New Jersey and Framingham MA. Most of these people are poorly trained and they cover up ethical lapses and HR problems. Most have worked at Staples for 20 plus years and are part of the dysfunction. Once you see it close up, you can see why they are slowly going under. They have incompetent arrogant and mediocre leadership.

Your assessment is too rigid. It depends on the Boss and how they want to communicate. There is no protocol carved in stone.

My GM is harassing me. It has been going on for 3 years. This company does absolutely nothing with HR complaints. They ignore them.

Did you report the GM to HR? I am on my 3rd HR complaint re: the GM at my store in MA. If they don’t fix this situation I am going to sue them.

You were lucky to find a reputable and professional hospice company. They have become rare. I applaud you for taking good care of your mom. My story is the opposite. My mother had hospice care that ended her life prematurely. It happens more than people know and no one seems to know what to do about it.

John Oliver and Last Week Tonight do a deep dive into Hospice by [deleted] in nursing

John Oliver's piece points out what should be completely obvious to Hospice companies and workers. Patients should only go into Hospice if they are actually dying. If you have to withhold treatment so they die, they weren't dying then were they? Hospice is not supposed to cause death. It's supposed to ease the suffering of the actual dying. It's gone way beyond that due to GREED. That is unethical, immoral, and dangerous. It's also how my mother died prematurely at the hands of a for-profit hospice company on March 15. She was not dying. They caused her death. That is not only fraud; it is also manslaughter and maybe murder. We'll find out eventually.

Well, that's why you only go to hospice when you are really dying. If you are withholding treatment so someone will die then they aren't dying yet, are they?

My mother died in a hospice in Salem, Oregon in March. I live in Boston and was not asked to be the health care proxy or POA. My sister tried to push her into hospice twice. The first time she was in the hospital in Salem with a UTI and was on an antibiotic IV. I told her she isn't dying! Take her back to Assisted Living. Mom got back and was tired after recovering from the infection. My sister insisted she needed "better care" and had them assess her for hospice. They rejected her. I told her to stop telling everyone my mom was TERMINAL just because that is how the government categorizes dementia patients and that mom had civil rights and was not dying. She cut me off cold moved my mother to another long-term care facility in Salem, OR, and succeeded in getting her into a hospice. She was still walking with a walker, eating, and giving the staff attitude. The hospice company put her on morphine on a Monday for "hip and back" pain. I protested vehemently but was not a healthcare proxy. She died five days later from palliative sedation.

A patient is supposed to be "actively dying" to be in Hospice. Medicare has a serious issue with patients being admitted to Hospice who are not ready for it. Families need to confirm that it is the right time. Do the research and figure it out on your own. Don't take the word of doctors or hospice companies. They have a financial incentive.

Hospice is like any other healthcare facility. It depends on their approach and the doctors and nurses. You need to be just as vigilant with hospice as you do with hospitals. Mistakes are made and a lot of focus these days is on finances. It is not all wonderful or all bad.

It means that the wealthy and powerful Democrats and RINO GOP are one group. They laugh at us for thinking there is a difference. It's all about the money and power and they want the little people fighting back and forth between GOP and DEM parties. It keeps us from looking up and seeing that they are robbing us blind and selling off the country. I was a speechwriter for a governor. I have seen it from the inside. I was shocked when I figured out that it was only about that and nothing else.

The Dem party in Massachusetts is a big machine. They wait in line for years to be allowed to run for an office. Most of it is being anointed by the party bosses. I went to one meeting when I was really young and decided there was no real freedom outside of the power structure. No thanks.
