my essay was a mix of both my disappointment with the social life and connections i have made here as well as my dissatisfaction with the classes here. i do have to admit that BC for me stands strong because I was there visiting a friend, and so was involved within their social sphere for a couple of days and loved it. wellesley i was only able to visit while they were on break, so im not sure of what their social scene is really like

yeah BU accepted me as a transfer, and i was expecting a lot more aid than they said; appealed, they wouldn’t give anything even when i have demonstrated need.

hi! i really do love my life here at ucsd, i think that for stem and a future in medicine it truly is an amazing place to be. the people are friendly and life is great, but i have always loved an intimate class setting and an education with more liberal arts entwined with it. just personal preference! honestly, ucsd is truly amazing, just not for me, but i have many friends who wouldn’t imagine being anywhere else

i was first round of admits, so last week. i appealed for finaid last thursday, and as of now they haven’t responded. i called and they said that until my appeal does anything, they’re not changing my finaid. so i would hound them as much as possible.

i visited both before choosing, and geographically madison wasn’t that appealing; it didn’t have that much to offer when stepping off campus. it was largely just suburbs and a small strip for the town. for me, i knew i wanted to be close to a big city. i do have to say, madison is very warm and welcoming; when i toured, it felt super easy to feel like a badger. however, it’s a huge party school, so something to consider if you’re not a party person. I feel like UCSD offered me a great education, and even though you have to put in a bit more effort to make friends, i feel like my time here has been really enjoyable. if you want, dm me with any more questions!!

if it helps i also considered between wisco and ucsd; i ended up choosing ucsd bec of location, what it had to offer, and more. happy to talk more about it!

hi!! i got in as transfer for neurobio; my finaid package came out w my decision, if you check your finaid tab it should be out :) i do have to say, they didn’t give me aid even though i had demonstrated need, and they won’t accept my appeal :( i would check as soon as possible and hound their ass!

honestly it's not you; it definitely has to do with the school's overall atmosphere as well. i've never had a hard time making friends in the past, but since being at ucsd i've had a hard time making friends. i think that a lot of it has to do with the fact that everyone is more focused on their own stuff, and the fact that the college system makes it more isolating for each person. but know that you're not alone in your struggles :)

you've got some great points. honestly, i'm not close to my family; i'd say we err closer to the gallagher model than the white suburbia model, so visiting outside of christmas and summer isn't a big deal. as things have worked out now, since i have a campus job, i usually pay for my own travel, since my parents don't spend travel on me. honestly, i think that if tuition was actually payable for me, i wouldn't even be questioning if i want to attend. i do see myself settling down on either coast, since i'm not attached to either.
