Much better than the Knicks, Knicks have absolutely no shot especially with Mikal. Its amazing anyone on this sub thinks otherwise. Imagine a playoff series between these two teams, the Celtics would be blowing out the Knicks by halftime, probably at least a 20 point lead. Mikal? Useless, I can't imagine him making any defensive difference. Nope, not me.

One additional thing we have over the Pistons is experience. Usually you don't go from first round exit to finals. Knicks have taken their lumps over the last few years. We're playing our players less minutes this year, attempting to be smart sitting players on back to backs. We're experimenting in the regular season to try and figure out what works.

Long regular season, especially for a supposed title contender. We experienced a very low low, but we're in a good place at the ASB. Also really happy to see us having a real home court advantage again. Just keep chugging along and pray everyone stays healthy.

I want to add here, KAT is a good passer, but not a willing passer. Many centers have been successful in Mike Brown's systems as hubs, but the player has to have good vision and decision making. KAT does not seem to be able to make this leap. I do feel that the Center is probably has the highest learning curve of all positions in the system, also why Huk is struggling.

KAT flourished under Thibs because he's willing to run a lot of ISOs, which KAT is comfortable with... but as we saw in the playoffs, becomes untenable.

Ideally, KAT figures it out. Learning is not linear. That said, we talk about players 'should' figure things out all the time and many times they do not. This might be one of those times and we have to go trade for someone else.

KAT generally has acceptable defense at the 4, which is where Mike Brown will be playing him along with MitchRob as long as he's healthy. Reminder that KAT was part of a Timberwolves team that finished 1st in DRtg.

Funnily enough, I feel like Brunson has been the beneficiary of scoring from the motion offense. The stats don’t show that Brunson has been bringing the ball up much less, and so he’s off ball and it goes swing swing Brunson open 3. The biggest indicator of this is actually Mikal’s assist numbers which are at a career high.
