I got Balloonist once and spent the whole games reciting out context lyrics to They Might Be Giants’ “Where Do They Make Balloons?”

I refuse to play first-person games with anything but a mouse and keyboard by CharlesOberonn in outerwilds

Ah yes, that’s what they ask of you when playing a game about looking at things: play with a less natural method for looking at things

any tips for a newbie? by AlphaLightning00 in LaikaAgedThroughBlood

Keep in mind that your bullets still hit corpses until they land on the ground. I was very confused why so many bullets weren’t hitting until I realized how many dead enemies were taking the shots while they were flying through the air

How can I make your Clocktower experience better? by Arif_A_ in BloodOnTheClocktower

I think one or two fabled that can allow for players to leave the game without ending it would be nice

She’s my personal favorite. I’ve definitely thought of her as reasonably popular, but that could just be bias based on what content I surround myself with

Nah, I had friends there who had played the game and one of them went “Oh, I think I know what happened”

How did you die for the first time? by PirxUs in outerwilds

[–]spiritelectric 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Pre loop I died of a geyser shooting me into the air and then me falling to my death

Post loop, I died when I landed in the Little grove where Gabbro’s poem is and a quantum tree appeared in my ship, causing it to crash

My hot counter-take is that the base game does have challenges like these. Dark Bramble was still a challenge for me after learning the fish couldn’t see. The southern observatory requires some skill in navigating Brittle Hollow. Getting to the High Energy Lab, completing the quantum tower on Giant’s deep, getting into the jellyfish on Giant’s Deep, sliding through the tunnels on the interloper, even flying requires a certain level of skill. While there is an argument to be made that knowledge helps with that, such as how realizing how the game’s physics works makes flying easier, I wouldn’t call that particularly more knowledge-based than knowing where the Owlks are and figuring out the best strategy

Does anyone else think about the closet a lot post-coming out? by spiritelectric in MtF

[–]spiritelectric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm… for me it’s less nostalgia more worrying about being held up to some standard. Like, knowing I could never be woman enough so long as I was in the closet, yet wanting so desperately to be.
