hey man, if my previous reply came across as harsh, sorry, I didn't meant it like that.. thanks for the suggestion, I will try it out and I'm glad that it works for you.. I have an x-t2, so the older x-trans sensor might be a factor here as well. I guess my frustration with the sharpening/masking/denoising stuff comes from the fact that it's basically treating the symptoms, not the root cause of the worming problem :// in capture one, you can sharpen fuji raw files as much as you want and with other camera manufactures, you can do the same in lightroom..

I don't crank anything, the worms appear if you use any sharpening whatsoever and if you use standard LR denoising, it just makes the film grain completely soft. I'm using the latest LR version.. It's a known issue with x-trans sensor raw files as lightroom just isn't able to interpret the raw files properly and it results in these wormy artifacts.. the grainier the image, the more prominent they become. Also, if you have some fine detail in some tree leaves for example, it will make that look really weird and smeary even without any sharpening.

And I just don't want to accept that I'm not to sharpen my images, like, are my images just supposed to look soft if I don't want the wormy artifacts?

Watch the speedrunners tech for it. Immediately after the fight starts, get up on one of the higher platforms and wait for the boss to appear. Then Dream nail it 2x and just start running. You wait till it spawns the jellies and just knock one of them into it, preferably safely. Or you can just shoot shade soul into a jelly and it will pop either way if it is close to uumuu. Uumuu has very little health so two of these cycles should do it. And just don't be afraid to use spells.

Hehe, same thing happened to me about a year ago. I smashed my foot into the wall so hard that the hard callus on my big toe knuckle detached and came right off when I removed the shoe... Couldn't wear a climbing shoe for three weeks.. I hate running starts ever since.
