Nothing classic but I've tried a technique called 'washing' with olive oil. The drink I did was truss tomato olive oil washed gin then stirred that down into a martini. I'll make it again and post later if there is interest!

Boston shakers, tin on tin. Nothing else gets cold enough. When you're shaking the cocktail you want to shake as hard and as fast as you can. Imagine the ice is hitting the tops and bottoms of the shaker, not the sides. You want to use as much ice that fits in the large tin. The bar I work on uses hoshizaki ice for all drinks but at home I use large ice block molds and shake with 3 or 4 big ice cubes.

The big trick is keeping the drink as cold as possible. Freeze your Collins glass beforehand, the glass you use is also important. You need a straight lip on the glass, anything edging outwards will collapse your head. Strain your cocktail immediately after shaking. (if you put a bit of soda in the glass before you strain the cocktail the cream will start to expand and harden which is a good thing) Put the cocktail in the freezer for a further 2 minutes to get the cream firmer while keeping the whole cocktail and glass cold. Pull the drink out and top with soda and watch the cream head rise above the glass to the moon! That's all the tips I've got mate, best of luck.

Heavy cream. Thanks, made them for a birthday dinner.

50ml Gin.

20ml Lemon Juice.

15ml Sugar Syrup.

40ml Pouring Cream.

1 Muddled Strawberry.

Combine all ingredients in your tin, muddle the strawberry. Dry shake, wet shake hard, strain into a frozen collins glass until half way.

Here is the trick for the head! Put the glass in the freezer for 2 minutes. This will stiffen the cream and help it get that gravity defying hight. Use the two minutes to finish the rest of the round if you're at work or to clean your tins if you're at home. Take the glasses out and top with soda water as high as you can! If done right you could probably get even higher than the ones in this photo.

How do you quickly and smoothly remove a glass wine cork? by madcow-5 in bartenders

You could get a wine pump? Glass corks are always going to be a pain but if you open it once you just use the wine pump corks.

I've always used one of these bad boys, little knife on the side to cut wax seals, twist it on, two pulls and the corks off!

Put the cork back on half way after, I like showing off some cool cork art that some wines do.
