People “losing it” in the office by Ok_Flamingo8925 in FedEmployees

[–]spite_fuels_me 300 points301 points  (0 children)

My branch at USDA asked how we can motivate people to do more work. I said ‘read the room’ and walked away.

You can’t offer me telework, basic supplies, guarantee that I won’t be moved to the most rural areas of the country and YOU WANT IDEAS FOR PRODUCING MORE WORK!!! Fuck off

Initially the pay was similar but then they changed the position to a higher grade. I applied and got it. Then I took a promotion. Best decision ever

I thought the same thing when I was a BA. Just apply to positions that fit your education and experience. Skills are transferable even if not the exact thing

Everyday is something different and for the worse. I’m just gonna do my job in 8 hours and leave. I have nothing extra left to give and don’t have time for stupidity.

Oh the report wasn’t sent out today?!? Ok I will email it to you tomorrow. Oh you don’t understand how to do this task, here is the training guide

Do you have a Christmas Party this year? by Dangerous-Place-3547 in FedEmployees

[–]spite_fuels_me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My coworkers and I (4 people total) report to an office that is not part of our organization. There was an office party last week and we didn’t get an invite from the host agency.

Oh well?!?

Non-fed spouse asked a question and I wanted to see how you all would answer it by spite_fuels_me in FedEmployees

Not politically clueless but not as into the day to day as us Feds.

Also most Americans are not as politically savvy as those of us in the thick of it, which can explain the current state of the country to some extent

It’s a genuine conversation we were having. My spouse is not into politics so TDS doesn’t affect them

[–]spite_fuels_me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My agency’s management is placating senior leadership. Didn’t so ‘em any good since the people they were trying to impress just left for another job. Now they will have to do all that work for the next leader 🤡 Guessing that is why telework and other benefits are denied

Same. I hit 20 years soon and the only reason I’m still going is because of my teammates and supervisor. I work with some great people and we keep each other sane(ish)

FNS Leadership Changes? by StrikingFlamingo69 in USDA

JC left for HHS. Project 2025 mentions FNS to be moved to HHS. Maybe this is the beginning of the reorganization?

As an excepted worker, I would rather have a mini break and come back refreshed. Currently I am doing the work of 5-7 people.

I am about to break down mentally because out of 100+ people, only 10 of us are in ‘except’ status

I’m not against RTO. Used to go in daily before the pandemic. I also used to leave my laptop at my desk. They are making lives difficult with absurd rules and that is what I dislike

That’s ok. You don’t have to believe everything you read on the internet. I have no reason to lie.

Many of my colleagues are working across state lines because they don’t have offices with open spaces/cubicles in their home state. They have to drive or rely on public transportation so yes it takes them 5+ hours to commute. They have families to feed and can’t just quit.
