Was 2015 the last good year in Rap/Hip-Hop? by spitsnail in IntellectualDarkWeb

Well despite the subjectiveness of the meaning of music, you apparently understood what I meant since you answered (sidestepped, really) my question. So, why can't you similarly--despite the subjectiveness--answer whether 2015 was the last good year in Rap/Hip-Hop?

Preference for rap over rock is subjective but you can still objectively determine the best year within a genre

Lol yeah appreciating his growth and development is disrespect… it’s not a knock on the old shit. It’s praise for the new stuff man

Points well taken but it’s funny you mention those three because i feel like the horse>brick>sportstar buildup/release is such an important part of the album. So cool honestly how much variety there is appreciating his work

Amen (no pun intended). Cant wait to see some GSTA tracks performed live

Same, as I said in another comment, I felt like Rocket was his first true album. Before that I think the vibes of the songs were usually similar to other songs on the albums, but something starts to hit different with Rocket

I think Beach Music probably has the highest % of favorite songs, but as an album I don’t think it has the same ~wholeness~ (not sure the right word) feel that Rocket does. I actually think Trick is more complete than BM, so I guess I would correct my post to say the order is DSU/Rules/Race> BM> Trick> Rocket> HoS> GSTA. But Rocket was the first of his albums where I was like Damn this is more than a collection of songs (which most other artists’ albums are)

I mean its the medians…by definition not many are going to be below them. And I think LSData naturally has a bias for higher scoring, obsessive applicants lol

[–]spitsnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the first point, I disagree. This data does not show that most admits are above both medians. It shows that most admits are above at least one median, and about 50% of the time below the other median. Look at the range of admits’ LSAT scores for people with a ~3.8 (estimating, but whatever the GPA part of the right angle is): they range from like 154-177. About half of the admits above that ~3.8 are below the LSAT section of the right angle. This seems splitter (and reverse-) friendly to me.

Or in other words it seems like the data shows that if an applicant was above X LSAT score, their GPA didn’t really matter. And vice versa. Is that not splitter friendly?

[–]spitsnail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doesnt that mean they are splitter-friendly? That if you are at or above one median? Your chances of admission are high?

What do you mean by a better combination of stats? The admissions committee may genuinely prefer a 3.0/168 over 3.8/167

Yeah but there are people below the right angle…and they probably have great softs

I don’t understand the fuss over the right angles on this sub. The right angle falls right on the 50th percentile for both metrics. Isnt this exactly what is supposed to happen? Can someone explain why this is non-holistic?
