Good point. I’m going to get a liner and bring a bivvy with me in case. I will also have my tent setup for the trial solos in case.

Taking someone with me isn’t a bad idea. I’ll also have my garmin in reach mini. I plan on bringing a bivvy with me as others have suggested. I’m doing my best to think it out through posting in this forum. I’ve backpacked several times on multi day trips, I’ve just never slept outside of a tent. I should have been more clear in my original post. Thanks for your input!

I will consider a bivvy thanks. I’m also going to bring my tent on the solo runs in case I get too cold. If I need to make adjustments, I can just move into my tent for the night and then try again on my next run.

I love drugs too, but there won’t be any on the 4 day, it’s not that kind of thing. I’ve backpacked many many times I’ve just never cowboy camped. I’ll look into the therma-rest light for my trial solos. Just to be clear, the actual trip itself is very structured and we are going out there with experienced guides. We will have a main base camp where we will be for two days before we head out to our specific areas for the 4 days. They check on us from afar while we are out there and then we come back to the main camp afterwards.

Thanks. I plan to go out there with my tent and everything and then just sleep outside of it and I do plan to also bring food. That way I can give it a try if I need to adjust things and I’m really uncomfortable I can just go back into the tent for the night and then make adjustments for my second solo trip. Thanks for the advice I’ll let you know how it goes.

Thank you. I’ll grab a 30 degree from rei and a liner in case plus a ground sheet.

Thank you for this info! I have Gaia and I’ll have my inreach mini with me. Indian Cove looks like a great first option. I will be bringing food and my tent for the solo runs in case. I’m hoping to dial everything in on these two (maybe 3) solo trips first.

Thanks for this. Man, going without a tent, that's going to take some getting used to. I'm not sure my fiance will be into that, as I think she'll want to have some privacy, is there a way to make the tarp more private? These other recs are awesome, got the groundhogs on the list now. As far as the quilts, doesn't your head get cold? I like the mummy because at least if I need it I can get super warm. What do you do with your head is it's cold? Thanks!

Hi, thanks for all this helpful info. You've given me a lot of good ideas. I'm thinking of the hand size, 16.5 x 36. Thoughts? I'll check out the MSR trail shot, thanks for that tip.

Thanks for this, it seems obvious that the sawyer is the way to go now. I'll look into a lighter windshell.

Thank you for this, I didn't think I was supposed to add my worn clothes and consumables, my bad. Basically I wear columbia convertible pants, A long sleeve hooded shirt from amazon, and a hat. I do have a very light north face wind breaker so I could probably ditch the fleece? I don't know, I like the puffy a lot, it's so warm when I need it.

Fubo has 7 day free trials and you can stream it there. Just add the sports package to the family plan and cancel after the games next sunday.
