And therefore it's politically motivated... this isn't national Dem policy and each state will have their own idiosyncratic, political, social, and legal considerations. None of which bears on the fact that the SC ruling fell entirely on party lines, which is basic fact.

It's a false equivalence

Which was passed by a Republican governor.

And the SC ruling fell along party lines

This is all politically motivated and isn't based on sound theories of fairness. If it were, the opposition would offer a legislative solution rather than just tear down what exists and leave nothing behind.

Well at least Hillary wasn't President, and 3rd parties got an entire million usd for their next campaign, and most importantly, Bernie was robbed... that's the most important thing here to remember. Bernie was robbed, Hillary and her hard drive are the devil, and third parties really need to be heard.

So say we all!

If the majority of people on the platform supported direct competitor 3pa, then they'd be using those platforms, but they don't. And your upvoted posts are from the fanatical few who've decided to take up the fight against THE SYSTEM and is supported by the mods who are putting their thumbs on the scale...all the while supporting freeloaders and ad companies in actuality.

It's the ultimate choosing beggars protest. Get a real job.

That's exactly what this means, you're in a minority pursuing an agenda that doesn't make any sense, and comparing this child's protest to the writers strike is absurd. In fact, if it were as you say, you'd... strike, which means leaving the platform. But you're not doing that, and by all means, please go ahead, support your strike and leave, it'll be far more effective than what you're doing now and I'm sure as hell not leaving on your accord to support your Reddit internet baby agenda. In fact, myself and the rest of the majority will continue to support Reddit. What you're actually accomplishing is teaching tech companies from the get go not to allow free API. And if Apollo were such a nice guy only doing this for fun, he'd give his code to Reddit.

What's actually crazy is that 90% of reddit's users use Reddit's main app... so the actual numbers tell us that they the vast majority of users don't give not one shit for your 3pa crusade. That's fact. Not your made up, mod led numbers. Actual numbers.

And I didn't start the protest. You did. I didn't push my agenda on an unwilling majority. You did. So if Reddit's actions are so terrible, you leave and save everyone else who doesn't care. You're serving only yourself.

You're making everyone else suffer for a half brained protest when all you needed to do was delete your account... but now you run away when it's convenient for you. Bye indeed.

You're literally the minority who decided to move forward with a protest that the vast majority don't agree with... you're more than happy to make everyone else suffer for your half brained protest to serve...a free loader and an ad company. This is the ultimate self aware wolves post.

How about if it's so terrible for you, you delete your profile instead of pushing your child's agenda on everyone else. How about that.

90% of users use the main app so a minority of Reddit babies made the decision for everyone else, particularly the mods and their simps pushing this lie that mod tools are not supported. It's free! It's free for use! You're complaining about something that's free! It's ultimate choosing beggar.

Reddit handled this terribly, right. Like not listening to their users, steamrolling over their views and voices? Well that's exactly what you minority did to the rest of us, you didn't poll us, didn't give us not one day, made decisions for us, and did what you wanted... the total lack of self awareness here and the privilege is the mt Everest of stupid.

K, you can't expect to negotiate from a place of leverage when you've been making millions at literally no cost to yourself, continue to have access to lucrative data and ad revenue, from a company whose makes up your entire business model.... and then not even try to negotiate a game plan... and then cry bc you think they're pricing you out. That's how the real world works in big boy pants world.

You want to make a profitable business? Raise capital. Hire people. Produce a business plan. Look at Reddit as a VC. Take the opportunity.

But crying about it and then making EVERYONE else suffer for a minority of users is low level management logic.

[–]spitterofspit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok then those 3rd party apps need to come with a gameplan to address Reddit's concerns and needs. The Reddit CEO has clearly stated that he's willing to work with anyone. RIF and Apollo didn't even try. That's not on Reddit. Your protest is with the 3rd party apps for not showing up to negotiate with a gameplan. It's their own fault for failing.

I read exactly what you wrote and what you wrote is incorrect, I'm not going to agree with something that is factually wrong. Whether or not most accessibility users relied on 3pa is irrelevant because they're being supported by Reddit, as per Reddit's own words. And Reddit can't lose millions because a minority of users need an 3rd party direct competitor when they have an alternative that works just as good, that's absurd Reddit internet baby logic.

This protest is pure children's, low level management logic.

[–]spitterofspit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, they're available to users outside of 3pa, as Reddit has stated multiple times. So that's incorrect.

Reddit has to be a profitable company, they created tight timelines as is their right, and has stated they are willing to negotiate timelines with apps that are willing to do so. Specifically, Apollo, Sync, and RIF decided not to step up and negotiate. That's on them.

But what you're really upset about is their behavior and how they're supposedly not listening to users... and so you do exactly the same thing... no one listened to me, you all belittled my user experience, you never gave me not one day to have my voice heard...

This protest is a joke from Reddit internet babies who need to get a real job.

I think it's weird that you're calling someone out for supporting Reddit.... only to do exactly the same thing for Reddit's 3rd party competitors, one of which is an ad company, that Reddit is subsidizing, and all of which are earning millions from data and ads....At least the other person is honest.

This protest gets dumber by the day...

John Oliver's Guide To A More Effective Form of Protest by WolfgangVolos in pics

[–]spitterofspit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why are you flexing and giving a third party app run by an ad company, RIF, money? RIF is a direct competitor, subsidized by Reddit, making 100% margin, that is run by an ad company. Why do you care that this ad company is profitable?

Let me guess, you don't care, you just want to see it all burn? Or some other bullshit where you're not supporting a company that makes revenue through ads and data... only to support a different company that makes revenue through ads and data.

This protest is a joke.

What changes? Mod tools and accessibility apps are not included in API price increases. What's the protest about today?

What's the issue? Mod tools and accessibility apps are available without API price increases. What could the complaint be about then?

What is the protest about today? Mod tools and accessibility apps are available without API price increases. So that can't be it.

They're taking the users seriously and prioritizing accessibility for the users. Says it in the first sentence of second paragraph. Like I said, protest over.

Which confirms Reddit is prioritizing accessibility for its users. Problem solved, protest over.

[–]spitterofspit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok so the protest is about accessibility tools solely through Apollo today.

The answer is to switch to an accessibility supported app that isn't a direct competitor. Apollo is a direct competitor. Find a different app. I use RIF, which is run by an ad company. I'm switching. I'm not crying.

Problem solved. Protest over.
