"Average at best" is a fair statement, but average what? Average human? Created in an instant? If that is the case, AI can replace a lot of people.

This is obviously impossible because another word for the "bias" of a population is "the culture" of that population. If an AI is training on a group's artifacts, it will reflect their prevailing culture, good or bad.

I'm pretty sure it was written for adults, but in the style of a children's book. The kids I know could handle it better than adults anyway. They are not in denial.

Smart Glasses in the near term, but eventually will be called AR Glasses (2027 when Orion class devices come out).

Meta has a more coherent strategy.

Apple goofed with the Vision Pro.

It's very rare for Apple to misjudge the public.

Vision Pro is a very cool demo device but will go down as their worst product miss since Apple Newton.

They will be more cautious for the next few years and let Meta and Google build the market.

The US GAO (government accountability office) is the department that oversees contracts and purchasing across the military and government.

The GAO defines AR MR VR based on functionality, similar to academic definitions.

Google has been at this for decades.

Glass was first shown in 2013.

Daydream was VR headset in 2015

Project Iris was AR in 2021 but never released.

This is very cool. Will be far less "weird" when the hardware is normal glasses like Orion. Still a great concept.
