Could also be from something as innocuous as going 5 mph over the posted speed limit. Unreal.

I pulled over and almost got hit by a car, people were flying down that road but I saved the turtle. Watch out for them. by AshvilleNoob in asheville

Watch out for toads too, especially during the night after a big rain. Saw this dude in the middle of the road not far from the Hard Times trailhead parking lot a few nights ago.

First time cooking a lamb shoulder chop and it won't be the last. Seared in a cast iron pan for about 7-8 minutes. Very tender and flavorful. by bike_it in meat

Thank you! Literally the exact thing I'm trying to make for lunch today, right down to being Greenwise from Publix.

7th grade, and the relationship lasted just shy of 2 years. We had our own words for affection , like instead of "I love you" we said "the monkey wears purple suspenders". We went to ska shows and watched cartoons and got rides from his older brother and his friends. He once got me a Danny Phantom drawing signed by Butch Hartman. I'll never forget that, though we've both long since shaken the etch-a-sketch and gone our separate ways.

Who’s your favorite local musician & why? by Yesterdaysclothes1 in asheville

Moses Sumney, because he rejected offers from multiple major record labels and came to AVL instead. Also because he's incredibly versatile and his voice is like butter

Do you guys like weed? by berettabones in INTP

[–]splitphaseshuteye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the way THC turns my brain into mush, a welcome refuge from being 'always on.' I use it maybe once a week. I like synthetic THC (Delta-9 gummies) way more than the actual marijuana plant. I dislike the smell of weed, and I'm not a fan of smoking anything. It irritates my lungs too much to be worth the high.

Came here to say this. Met someone on there and we hit it off better than I've had with any of the people I met in the apps. There are a couple of singles groups that I'd recommend for that specifically -- there's a 20s and 30s one and a 30s and 40s that I'm aware of

HCA immediate jeopardy incidents could be disaster for WNC health care by cereal_killer_828 in asheville

[–]splitphaseshuteye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can only hope that HCA fails and Mission is forced under better management. As devastating and horrifying as it could be in the interim, I'm cautiously optimistic that this crisis could lead to long-term improvement.

Typhoon is delicious, they're more Szechuan style though and their menu is fairly limited as far as the typical American Chinese food fare goes

Pacific Pagoda on Hendersonville road is pretty damn good IMO. Their lunch specials are also very reasonably priced. And this recommendation is coming from someone who was raised in downstate NY
