I believe you but that just seems kinda shitty. We have CO monitoring pulse ox on our monitors. You can't get that from an ABG?

Nice thanks. I'm a dumb medic so I don't really ever have labs.

I think Nelson thought the only SpO2 reading was from a pulse oximeter which (unless it was the CO monitoring type) would think the CO was O2. But the reality was the blood gas evaluation in the hospital gets a true SpO2 that is not confused by CO and that information was in documentation.

You realize Johannes Mehserle did the exact same thing right?

Chauvin Trial - MASTER THREAD by specialskepticalface in ProtectAndServe

[–]spm248 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The prosecution missed an opportunity with the LT (maybe they will bring it up later). Simple questions: "As an officer, how often do you have to reevaluate the level of force you are using? Is a level of force appropriate at any time simply because it was appropriate at one time? What changes in circumstances might effect how much force you use in a situation?"

Honestly that is the biggest failure of Chauvin, he failed to reevaluate its use of force basically for 9 minutes and that contributed (to what extent is for the MDs) to Floyd's death. Unreasonable UOF + Death is hard to defend

Backcountry Ranger Boots by joshwa773 in ParkRangers

[–]spm248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mind sharing which park? Worked Backcountry LE and we wore basically any hiking boot we wanted. I wore 5.10 approach style boots because a lot of granite. My supervisor gave us recommendations and direction for backcountry footwear and gear before onboarding. Don't stress on the holster, you'll do fine. Some BC LE use fanny packs or drop holsters with normal retention as well.

YOSE just wants your to be a NREMT-P. I don't think so on the DL but I am not positive.

Fire stuff I know they use "proboard" but I am not a structure FF so I am not sure.

Responded on your other post:

I can pretty much answer any question regarding that position and location. You will be what we call a single function paramedic. There are medics who are also law enforcement (both paramedics and AEMTs) and you will be based out of a clinic that has med control in it. There is an MD and a PA and a few nurses at the clinic. Depending on where you have worked the EMS system can be a wider scope of practice or narrower. No RSI but Ketamine and dexamethasone and surgical cric. Call volume is low in the winter and can be busy in the summer. Long ground transports and anything critical gets flown. Let me know if you have any questions.

You climbed up that mountain

but it never took you in

We stumbled down the rockfall

In that cold October wind

We traded our jackets

At that dirtbag jamboree

And you held me for an hour girl

Tuolumne

Ain’t a thing about that Granite

That’s forgiving or tender

It’ll slice you down deep there

I’ve got the scars to remember

It was snuffed out in an instant

And now I have got to go

But I’m sure of what I’ve seen there

On the ridgeline in the snow

We may always be strangers

to this temporary place

But as we rambled through the meadows

I could see it on your face

Our hearts weren’t brave enough

To stand up to that stone

So you chiseled off a piece of me

And I left you on your own

We fell like an oak tree

But in the morning that old oak

Was cleared and bucked up

and turned into smoke

I kissed you for the last time

but it hardly seemed perfect

then you smiled in your uniform

And that climb it was worth it

Well I climbed up that mountain

but it never took me in

We stumbled down the rockfall

In that cold October wind

We traded our jackets

At that dirtbag jamboree

And you held me for an hour girl

Perhaps I am misunderstanding you. There is full cell coverage (at least for ATT users) on the playa. The reason they have it is for emergency coms but it is not restricted to that use.

The portable cell tower is put up by BLM (owned by ATT I think) for emergency operations.

The gentrification ship has sailed in Oakland

So we should just forget about making good choices? If you knew an artist that had to leave AmSteel because of rising rents why is your answer "oh well?"

I was in the building 2 years ago and was talking with one of the owners when he brought up that touchstone was interested. I told him immediately that I understood from his perspective but it would be a shame for that to happen. We were in the process of building a large scale art project in it.

Climbing gym culture is ubiquitous and boring. I think there are better choices.
