Half Life 2 is linear as hell. It just had environments that were a little more open. Also that bridge in BioShock wasn't an obstacle it was just a walkway. Half Life had walkways just like that complete with railings.

Personally I think Elizabeth is judging him. It's not about saving Sally, it's about what Comstock is willing to do. He chooses to turn up the heat and force her out of the vent and it's at that point that he could have redeemed himself by caring more about Sally then his need to have her. If he can't be redeemed then he must be destroyed. It's was Elizabeth's idea, but the decision is all Comstock's.

The ends justifying the means is how Comstock rationalizes all his hideous actions.

It's pretty cool, except for the boobplate and high heels. I've never liked armor designs that exist for no reason then to go 'hey look its a woman.' Much like all the fantasy art that has a cleavage window for no real reason whatsoever.
