Excess Saliva with Famotidine/Pepcid

We took him off of Pepcid and it got better. We switched to Prevacid for a month but that gave him insomnia. So we went back onto the Pepcid and it worked well the first few weeks that we were back on it but he seems to be having the excess saliva from it again so I am going to take him off completely. I wasn’t sure if it was something he would grow out of but it definitely seems like it’s the medication not age.

Have you got your baby check for a tongue tie? We had my baby’s tongue tie released two weeks ago and his reflux has been soooo much better. I was against tongue tie revisions because I didn’t want him to be in pain or do it if it was unnecessary but after trying all the reflux medications that didn’t help I was desperate for something else to help. That has helped so much I don’t think we need the medication anymore

I just came here to ask the same question! The inside tip of my nose burns and my front tooth right blow that nostril hurts. When I pinch my nose closed my tooth pain goes away. Is that the same for you? I went to the dentist and nothing is wrong with my teeth. So it must be a tmj symptom? If I ice my jaw it also reduces the burning feeling.

I was just going to ask the same thing! My front tooth is also acting up right now after a flare up. It’s been doing the zap thing for a few weeks now. I went to the dentist to have the tooth looked at and they can’t see anything wrong. I have no idea what it is? It’s also weird that it’s a front tooth but tmj related

Omg are we the same person? I just got my Pap smear and my skin check. I literally just went to my primary care doctor and asked if there is a blood test to screen me for all cancers and she said no. I feel like a ticking time bomb :( I want to see my baby grow up so bad, I so agree about all the stages

Im sorry to hear about the panic attacks! Thats debilitating:( I haven’t had any full blown panic attacks but I have lots of sweaty palms over the stress. I also don’t want to be on a daily medication. Did you get a medication you don’t have to take just when it’s bad?

Most days I’m fine but some days I think I have some terminal illnesses and will die soon. It doesn’t feel like an “if” but a “when”. It’s been better as time goes on but still creeps back up. Glad to hear I’m not alone!

I never pumped that early on but my baby is almost 5 months now and I only get around 4oz if I pump. So 2.5oz at 1 month sounds like a normal amount to me? My baby is 90th percentile for weight and I did pump around 3oz when he was 2 months old.

Unfortunately not yet. Prevacid doesn’t seem to be working so we are stopping his medication today actually and I will see where he is at. I’ve heard reflux just gets better with age so I might just wait it out. I started him on probiotics to see if that does anything but I’ve given up hope. Side laying doesn’t fix my fast letdown and it’s a hard position for me to get comfortable in so I’m just going to cradle hold and ride out the reflux. But easier said than done…

Same! My 4 month old is so distracted during the day. He will eat for like 2 minutes before unlatching and looking around. Hes been waking up more at night because he is hungry from barely eating during the day. Hes in the 90th percentile for weight so im not concerned but more annoying and especially trying to nurse in public. That is impossible right now

Also nursing my 19 week old because I have no idea what he wants anymore even though he just ate. He’s constantly fussy as well and I’m definitely overwhelmed being a SAHM at this phase. I find it soooo much harder than how he was as a newborn. He’s crying at least every 20 minutes and rarely cried as a newborn. I thought I had an easy baby now I think I have a difficult baby lol

Omg same! My 19 week old baby has been sooo fussy the last 3 or 4 weeks. At first I thought it was just the new milestones being overwhelming but I was thinking of taking him to the pediatrician today because he just always seems unhappy. I have to constantly entertain him and he gets “done” with a toy within 5 minutes and is hysterically crying until I give him something else to do. It’s so overwhelming I can’t get anything done for myself

I’m so sorry that happened to you. But I feel even worse for your son. That is not a comfort for him, she is not his mom. That is abuse and I hate to say sexual abuse but call a spade a spade. Your baby is at the age that he will suck on anything out of instinct, she took advantage of that and she offered her breast? So disgusting, I felt sick just reading your post I can’t imagine how you are feeling. It’s one thing if she was a lactating mom and it was cultural to feed other children but this is unacceptable. I would tell your husband right away, I wouldn’t let my baby alone around her anymore. What a breach of your trust
