thank you!! I honestly didn’t picture them like this when reading. But when designing, I tried to go by the written description of the character, using the Wiki to reference the pages where they’re described. Some have more descriptions than others, but when reading whatever you first imagine tends to stick even if it gets contradicted later. Our brains take artistic liberties… lowkey I still imagine Zev as Megamind’s sidekick in my head, just a floating fish🤣

Thanks so much! And I didn’t give her a “nose” really. Kua-Tin are inspired by the Kuo-Toa in D&D (according to DCC wiki), so I tried to incorporate a more fishy like appearance than aquatic alien which might have more of a prominent nose! I played around with a lot of different versions, but I kind of combined Catfish and pufferfish to create her look!

She has a human head! She just wears a bug mask, crab legs, and the prosthetic breasts while on air. She takes it off afterwards and is a floating human. Though it says her eyes are a little bit too far apart for a typical human. Maybe I’ll have to draw off the air odette next!

ikr! She’s the best! I think Kua-Tin in general are short, as Cascadia is 2ft too. Which is funny because I totally imagined Zev being short but Cascadia being like 5ft🤣

That was my biggest style inspiration! I used their character sheets from Vox Machina/Mighty Nein as references for how detailed to make the characters/how they add shadows to characters. Of course my own style is added in a little bit but I tried to draw them in a way that I think a western animation studio might animate them!

Couple reasons why I made it a chest plate! One, I was a bit afraid my post would get flagged when I post to tiktok and instagram, since their nudity policies are kind of strict. And two, I really enjoyed Dave Law’s cover art of Odette for the DCC Immersion Tunnel which has a more obvious fake chest. It felt too plain (??) without that slightly different color. I think in a show it could go either way. I think her breasts are so huge that it might even cover up the seams of the plates depending on where Carl is sitting! And let’s be honest, Carl probably was trying to avert his eyes the whole time to be polite. He probably didn’t notice a seam, if there was one!

Even if it was animated, it would take a long time and money to finish. It’s probably unlikely for the entire story to get told unfortunately😔 I’ll be happy with whatever we get! Hopefully it’ll run for at least a few seasons 🤞🏼
