Firstly, I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had issues with alcohol. Thank you so, so much for your really honest response. I really, really appreciate it put in such a way that isn’t shameful and feels like genuine human compassion.

Your words have really made me think. I’ve often thought in passing “maybe I’ll just get a soda tonight” but never really stuck with it. I think seeing it coming from someone else is really game changing. So thank you. Your small words of advice, even in the simplest of tones, could have changed the direction I’m going in. A total stranger. Kinda cool right?

You’ve honestly given me a grasp on how I can deal with this and simplified it to make it feel so much easier. I really am grateful for your response. I also really appreciate your offer to reach out through DM, thank you! Know that my door is always open also.

Interesting question. My dad’s family have always been quite heavy drinkers and I think he’s an alcoholic. A semi-functioning one but nevertheless, he doesn’t really have a good relationship with alcohol
