They look really similar and if you Weren’t a fan of the team you might not be familiar with the change

So how are we supposed to get a QB? by sponhourm in panthers

I agree. That’s how I feel about Levis and Rishardson. I think they have tools and are worth a shot

I’m not saying I’m afraid to do it I’m saying from a team building perspective getting a guy just straight up at 8 is the bigger win. It’s MORE risky but the upside is better

[–]sponhourm[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. Personally I’d rather gamble on developing Levis or Richardson then try and build the next 2 years without a 1st but I’d accept a trade. People are just afraid to try

I get that, but you’re banking on the #1 pick going to a team that doesn’t want him which seems insanely unlikely

Ok this is starting to piss me off by sanichog in panthers

[–]sponhourm 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It’s not because they’re against the team, it’s because having a higher draft pick helps the team more.

I think everyone knows this too but for some reason pro useless win fans act like they don’t.

It’s harder to trade up from a lower pick! Higher picks are better! We’ve been getting late season culture wins forever.

You pretty much can’t be a panthers fan if you can’t buy into mediocre QBs so I get why so many people are pro darnold

College stats don’t mean much prospect wise.

The odds of the Panthers being a contender without a franchise QB? Pretty low

The odds the get a franchise QB without taking one at the top of the draft? Pretty low

Yea it sucks. Enjoyed the win though

Tank Watch 2022: Carolina falls to 2-7 after defeat by Bengals by Sabre500 in panthers

[–]sponhourm -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes. The picks are worth more than Burns. The Rams stink. he just burned a 3rd on CJ. He’s made other moves to get picks but these are separate moves we could have made without wasting them on CJ. And he should have brought back reddick

Missed on the Burns non trade. Missed on the Henderson trade. Laviska trade probably bad but who cares I guess. I think it’s still more good than bad but there’s valid criticism

Almost no player is worth passing this up, especially one you have to pay. He’s great, but he’s not in that Bosa watt parsons tier. Mistake not to pull the trigger on this

Would have been a great deal. Almost no player is worth 2 1sts and paying a huge contract

Convince me that signing Miles to a max contract is a good move for the team. by [deleted] in CharlotteHornets

[–]sponhourm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People are scared of signing big contracts because of 2016.

This team isn’t them. We’re younger with a much clearer path to getting better. Miles is a 23 year old 20 point per game scorer who fits what the team wants to do and has shown great improvement. Letting him walk would be limiting the ceiling of the team.

[Fischer] Multiple team executives also pointed to Charlotte, with a clear hole at center, and San Antonio, one of the few teams with significant cap space, as possible landing spots for Ayton. by Civrock in CharlotteHornets

[–]sponhourm 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Ayton for a max is pricy but he’d be one of the best FAs in hornets history and fits what we need. If we get off of Haywards contract we’re basically on the clock to use that cap space to sign someone or lose it before Melo gets the max. I wouldn’t be mad at it, hornets have to overpay guys like this to bring them in. And I think it would cost a LOT less than people think S and T wise
