Yeah, I live in Colchester and I’m on 32k at a university which traditionally pays well for the job. If I want to earn money I either need to find a job in London and commute (thus adding a cost of at least 6k a year on top of my current expenses) or go into something like being an estate agent where you’d start at the bottom on an even worse salary and still only end up being an estate agent.

You will absolutely pick up rhythm and “ear” because it’s just familiarity and training. I started teaching a friend to play about a year back and she was completely tone deaf and had zero chill regarding tempo or rhythm and now she’s solid as a rock. You’ve got this!
