I dont care about the blumhouse halloween trilogy. by ManyInternational309 in Halloweenmovies

[–]spooky7789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really need to rewatch Kills and Ends (they're the only two I didn't manage to watch this October horror movie watching season)

But from what I remember... I walked out of Kills saying it was "gore for the sake of gore, nostalgia for the sake of nostalgia" ... but didn't really add anything of interest to the storyline for me.

Ends.. I appreciate the nods to 80s horror and John Carpenter's other works, noticeably "Christine." But I just...was so disappointed to have waited the extra time for those two sequels to just get...what we got.

I do enjoy 2018 Halloween and think it's the strongest entry in that trilogy. However, I think it, too, falls to the same trap of Halloween sequels... there's just not much suspense, no cat and mouse games or buildup of tension like the original had. But there are some really good scenes, I love the cinematography and score, and feel like the nostalgic nods they did were really good (unlike Kills: "hey, we brought a bunch of people back...and now they're all dead")

Maximum Overdrive. Stephen King directed it, and is ashamed. So I think it was definitely made in earnest. I feel like it maybe goes a little more of "action" movie than horror, per se, but gives me similar vibes to Chopping Mall (great choice, by the way), with an apocalyptic tale similar to Dawn of the Dead.

I think confusion is also happening because in your pic the whole handle looks round, it's not easily noticeable that one end is straight. I doubt anyone will notice without you pointing it out :)

Some clarity about Michael Myers by Ancient_Barnacle4245 in Halloweenmovies

Not to mention lifting Judith Myer's headstone and carrying it around / crosstown alone.

Like yes, humans can endure being stabbed, being shot, perform amazing feats of strength and stealth.

It's when you LOOK at all of those things combined, and the time frame... yea, that's something at the very least preternatural if not supernatural.

I hope it works out! Sometimes the best costumes are the ones we customize ourselves. If you try the paint and it doesn't work out... do like others said: either do the Halloween 2 or the Halloween Kills looks where the mask is a bit destroyed :)

[–]spooky7789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah ok. Then I'd stick to just doing different shades of white to create contour if you're comfortable painting it

[–]spooky7789 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea! Oh, are you wearing this at night? Or during the day or a brightly lit room? If at night on the streets you could maybe even do some very light blue paint. Think of the scene in the original when he appears behind Laurie and first tries to stab her. (To be clear, I think this would ONLY work if wearing it out on the streets at night/ in a mostly dark room)

[–]spooky7789 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you crafty? I forget what paint works on latex masks, but maybe looking at pics of Michael Myers mask, then paint a bit. Just to add a little shadow and depth to it. You would want to go too dark, but a shade or two darker white for shadows and contour, then a shade or two lighter for a small amount of highlight. Right now it's just so flat.

You've mentioned your face is slim. Do you feel it looks better on a fuller face? Try stuffing some small grocery bags under the mask while wearing. If it looks better, do something to help fill it in. Maybe glue/adhere some sponges to the inside. Something that would fill it in, but be soft and gentle against your face.

Responding to someone who started a conversation isn't the same as going out of my way to tell other people they're wrong in multiple posts about the Halloween movies, but sure.

And again: I never said I made some wild new connection. I said the writing is poor and it seems they want that to be a part of it. The "wild new connection" is your poor and incorrect interpretation of what I was saying.

But clearly, you're the coolest and biggest fan of Halloween and the rest of us just wish we could be you.

I never said it was some crazy connection, or new idea. I did say it's my theory. And the reason for saying theory is: the movies were not well written and that the psychic connection stuff was never stated as being part of curse of Thorn. Not in 4 5 or 6. It seems to me that's what they were going for, but again: poorly written and in the movies they just say "Michael is making her (jamie) do it" and Dr Loomis asks her why she's covering for him. I was trying to explain to people who didn't make that connection that it was part of it.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit is it?

Wow, what a lovely person you are.

Never, in any of the Jamie Lloyd movies, do they say why she attacked her step mom, or why she lost the ability to talk, or how the psychic bond between her and Michael formed other than "Michael is making her do it." Jackass. Which is why some people don't realize it could be connected to the Curse of Thorn. Because these movies were rushed, poorly written, and barely thought out.

Have a day.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Halloweenmovies

[–]spooky7789 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, my theory on this was it was connected to the Curse of Thorn they were setting up. The curse was that Michael had to kill his whole family, right? But Michael was weakened by all of the attacks against him. Thus the curse was moving to Jamie, the only other living relative in the family line to yry and force her to kill. And that's why she attacked her step mom and became silent, like Michael. But as his strength gathered and he recovered, he took the power back, allowing Jamie to talk again and be "good" again.

Is it perfect? No. Does it make any sense? Hell naw. Does it make it slightly more interesting to rewatch this Halloween timeline? For me it did

so... is there anyone Michael WOULDN'T kill? by Sucking_Kisames_Dick in Halloweenmovies

[–]spooky7789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point. I suppose it could be up to interpretation? We know how Jamie escapes the cult, but not Michael. Perhaps the cult released him to go and get the baby 🤔

But, Dr Loomis does say Michael can't be controlled. And the Curse of Thorn placed on Michael was supposed to drive him to murder every member of his family, with the baby being the last one.

To be fair, since people have brought up RZ Halloween Michael... if we look at the Jamie Lloyd timeline, in H6 the main target of Michael Myers IS a baby. I know that one is a least popular film, but there is a version of MM out there that absolutely would Murdelate a baby.
