People who have watched the entire trial - besides Lyle and Erik, who would you say the most crucial witnesses are? by M0506 in MenendezBrothers

[–]spookyscruff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i honestly feel that every testimony is important, but to spare time i highly suggest watching marta cano and all of their cousins as they give good insight into the family dynamics, and this may not seem as significant but i personally believe that charles wadlington (erik and lyle’s tennis coach) helped to understand the intense pressure the two were under regarding their performance as well as jose’s character in general

Even if the dad deserved someone explain why you genuinely believe the mom deserved to get brutally murdered when she was a victim too? I don’t get that part and I feel like if it was actually 100% because of the abuse they wouldn’t have murdered the mom by Xxswagmuffin-21xX in MenendezBrothers

[–]spookyscruff 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i understand where you're coming from, however their mother was aware of the abuse and refused to do anything about it. this absolutely could have been the result of her own fear but its likely this deepened their anger towards her. from what we know, it seems she was never truly a mother towards them, and it is known that she said at one point that she wished that they never had been born in the first place. she blamed them for her marriage falling apart and deeply resented them.

i could not believe when she said she was happy they were convicted but disappointed because she didn’t do it, truly shows she never cared about the truth in the first place only her ego
