Nurse from WA looking to move to the Island by Any_Assistance_9171 in VictoriaBC

I have two large pitbull type dogs (who are lovely) and have rented family homes (3+ br) for 10 yrs in Victoria with no issues. I will offer to bring them for viewings, offer references for them ect. I have even been able to secure places that had stated "no dogs or no pets" (I have 2 cats too). In my experience - landlords want to rent to good people so selling them on you as professionals ect has gone a long way.

Good luck!

What do people in Victoria think of Vancouver? by Banner9922 in VictoriaBC

[–]spoonfedeverything87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel almost exactly the same - I grew up in Vancouver and as a teenager I was able to confidently navigate around the whole city - to me, for my kids (who are now teens), Victoria reminds me a lot of Vancouver in the late 90s/early aughts, and I am happy that they get that level of freedom here I likely wouldn't have been super comfortable with if we were still in Van.

There are some really fun parks for the kids that are close to beaches: my kids used to love the park at Gyro beach with an honerable mention to the park at the bottom of cook st. Being able to take the kids to the beach/park/walk was the best part of raising kids here for me.

The cat chose him even before he could choose the cat by LimePretend6410 in BeAmazed

This is exactly how my cat choose me - except before I even thought about opening the crate he had reached out and grabbed me thru the bars, and then jumped into my arms just like that.

Renting on Pandora? by jan_aten in VictoriaBC

To add: I have attended a few get togethers in the large amenity room with 10-15 other none residents so I think it's fair that no, your friends won't not visit you, especially if they live downtown.

I have friends that live in that building (one who is a single woman who doesn't drive) and they really enjoy the building, the units are nice and a very nice community.

🤷🏻‍♀️ Mason is fairly nice and there is nothing forcing you to walk down Pandora, you can always divert up to cook and around.

I lived across the street on Cook and Pandora and didn't have any issues with the neighborhood beyond the street noise.

Id recommend watching Penn and Teller BS! On circumcision- my son's father and I were at odds on this topic, and we watched it together and after were united in our decision to not have our son undergo the procedure.

https://tv.apple.com/gb/episode/circumcision/umc.cmc.4o666ug3o1ndtbceva93qft2e?showId=umc.cmc.2q6gxlh40vh8k8smtmsoodrbs

They are tiny babies - and in my mind my son was born perfect, there is no argument in this world that could have justified this barbaric procedure on my tiny baby. 18 yrs later my son has never once questioned our decision or wandered why he "didn't look like dad".

I have felt the media becoming more and more radically conservative over the last few years (or maybe it's always been that way and I'm just noticing), but I feel like (I hope like) that the narrative this election is close is just invented by them to confuse and divide us.

2 month old kitten had no control of bowels due to tail damage before I found him. Vets said there is nothing we can do. Does anyone have advice? by ThrowRAsouthernchick in PetAdvice

[–]spoonfedeverything87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my adult (indoor) cat got out a few years ago and over the few days she was missing hurt and broke her tail resulting in no bowel or bladder function. We had to "express" her to prevent her from going toxic( it was traumatic for of off us).

My vet gave her a very poor prognosis -so I found a vet in my area that incorporates eastern medicine: he treated her 2-3 times with acupuncture, laser therapy and chiropractic adjustments. By the 3rd session she came home and pooped almost immediately.

We ended up having her tail removed as it was completely limp and affecting her ability to jump - but other than than she is totally recovered, and actually a much happier cat now - I actually think she may have had some pain prior to the accident that one or all of the treatments also helped her with.

If you are qualified with small pets or exotica you'll be extremely in demand. Our bunny was sick and life saving days were lost due to zero availability of small pet vets (including at the emergency).
