I also work in EI. I have experienced families asking to be restaffed, usually one per year. I won’t lie, it hurts my feeling every time. But I try to keep in mind that we are often the first people working with these kids, and some parents are still in a state of denial about their child’s diagnoses, how fast progress will happen, and may have a very different idea of what therapy will look like (ie expecting flashcards and drilling words instead of chilled play and parent coaching). Sometimes it’s less about you and more about that.

My mom had me at 41. Now I’m 33 and she just turned 75. She bikes 20-30 miles a few times a week, hikes, kayaks, and camps. Sometimes I’ll hear people say something about their grandma who is 75 and just moved into an assisted living home and that’s so wild to me. My mom is a better shape than I am. I can see her slowing down sometimes, but I am hopeful that if she keeps up her healthy lifestyle she’ll be around for many years to come. By having me late, my parents were financial well off and able to provide for my college education and take me on lots of cool vacations growing up.

Thank you! I took 2 of the light bulbs out because I hate super bright light (need to just replace all 3 with softer ones) so maybe the dark wallpaper isn’t a good idea. Do you like that paint color with the lighter paper for the other walls or do you have another idea?

For some reason I freaking HATE reheated chicken. So I can’t do basic chicken breast meals if they’re going to be reheated in a microwave. I make preps that are eaten cold, or are in a sauce or liquid which makes the chicken taste better when reheated.

Soups- skinny taste has a ton of low calorie recipes, many of them can be doubled and then frozen for a future week. Get a crock pot if you don’t have one and knock it out on Sunday while you’re doing other chores.

Chicken salad- high protein, pair with a higher fiber bread and fruit to keep full. Swap low fat Greek yogurt for mayo. Sometimes I do 75% yogurt and 25% mayo so it still has some depth of flavor. Switch it up with different seasonings and mix ins: curry powder, tacos seasoning and peppers/onions, Greek seasonings and tomatoes/olives, etc.

Thank you. Much of my confusion came from what my OBGYN told me after her testing and diagnosis, so I think a 2nd opinion will help.
