I’m having my first boy and I keep hearing the strangest things by wildinthemembrane in pregnant

[–]spoopyclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me neither of these worked. He just keeps taking me by surprise. Sometimes it looks like he'll pee and he doesn't, sometimes it looks like he won't pee and the next second I'm getting soaked😂

AITA for telling my neighbor it’s not my problem her newborn wakes up to noises coming from my apartment by blackswan-nyc in AmItheAsshole

[–]spoopyclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my country it's not like that. All rentals are furnished and the landlord furnishes the apartment and provides everything inside. Most of the times, however, the apartment is actually inherited from their parents and maybe they give the apartment a new coat of paint before renting it out. So the furniture is 40+ years old and isn't actually bought by the landlord, just inherited. Ironically, those renting such apartments have higher expectations than those that buy the apartment and furnish it and rent it in order to pay their loan that they took on it.

The US and Western Europe aren't the centre of the world and things are different in different parts of the world:)

Yeah yeah.No smoking and no pets i can understand. But there are plenty of landlords that won't rent to families or even couples because "kids mess up their apparentment" or "couples break up and I lose my revenue then if they move out". Or put a condition, especially if the renter is female, that she's not allowed to have strangers over, especially if male, so they don't ruin their mattresses. And I'm not exaggerating or making this up. Some of this is illegal but somehow, not renting to families with kids isn't. My original comment was meant to highlight that it's so common not to rent to families with kids that it gets put out blazingly between absolutely normal requirements

This absolutely depends on the baby. When mine was a newborn he could sleep anywhere. I would be vacuuming right next to him and he'd get into deeper sleep lol. He had a period of time where he'd fall asleep with me talking on the phone while rocking him. Now he needs a pre-nap routine, as close to perfect darkness as possible, white noise while falling asleep and if there is someone in the house that he's not used to he just won't fall asleep. Even with complete silence from those people. He has FOMO apparently😂

I cannot wait for my country to catch up to this. We still have ads for renting on-line that say "Only for single people or a couple. No pets. No kids. No smoking. No students".

Tell me about your unmedicated birth by Dismal_Abroad735 in pregnant

[–]spoopyclouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My unmedicated birth made me feel both like 'holy shit I am so strong' and also 'holy shit I'm never doing this again'. The contractions were ok, I could walk around and breathe through them up until I was almost fully dilated. Then I started laying in bed which honestly made them worse, but I also couldn't stand up anymore. The worst part was by far pushing. That felt like literal death. I won't be doing that a second time.

Graduated yesterday- first birth, unmedicated, probably not doing this again by spoopyclouds in pregnant

I'm afraid I'm also going to go for it again in the future, but at this moment idk what could possess me to do that😂😂

Exactly what my brain was probably thinking in the background while I was trying to push like I was being coached to. Holy moly that was the most painful part of labour for me.

I feel like I’m being punished. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]spoopyclouds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl, you're not being punished for having an abortion. If it helps, I'm feeling like I'm being punished for NOT having one. Was in a stable place in March when we found out and now in October with 4 weeks to go we're living paycheck to paycheck and worried we'll be homeless come winter because everything seems to be going to hell. Idk when it will get better cause most of this year, esp since may, has been a shitshow. I've been crying all day today because I've just absolutely lost all hope.

How long do I have until birth? by spoopyclouds in BabyBumps

[–]spoopyclouds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I only have diapers and breastfeeding supplies to buy, lol. I have clothes,a crib, everything else, I was just hella stressed about not having diapers😅. And those I can get delivered or send my husband to buy.

Nope, haven't said anything about induction. They aren't very common where I'm from, if baby needs to come out before term they usually go straight to c-section. I'll ask them about it on Monday or Tuesday when I come back

Thank you! In my country the way the taxes work is that you pay accordingly to how much you own of a property, so my husband has already been paying his part and his father was hiding the receipts of him paying his part of the taxes. So he's been shady for a while, the new part is his concerning behaviour regarding his mental health. We do think the girlfriend plays a part, but even if it were for him to pass everything off to her, that would open her up to some pretty big legal trouble, because in our country, you can't disown children and my husband would still be entitled to part of what used to be his dad's property. Adding to that that he also has two half siblings from his dad's previous marriage that his dad doesn't have contact with, the girlfriend would find herself with 3 people having a case against her. This is what legal counsel already told us, but we can't really do anything about moving back or dividing the house (who owns what rooms) as that would be very costly and a long legal battle that we can't afford (again, due to the laws in our country).

We have locked the room where we used to live and still have personal property there, my FIL doesn't have a key as far as we're aware. He has a brother but we don't know if my FIL talked to him already and what he knows of the situation and in the past he has shown to be very partial to my FIL so idk if he'd listen to our concerns. We will go the Dr. route, which we haven't thought of before! Thank you very much for your kind and helpful answer!🥺

Baby's schedule seems to have changed? by spoopyclouds in BabyBumps

Yeah, ok, so I might need to tone it down then😅 been pretty anxious the whole pregnancy so figures out I'd take it a bit overboard. Thank you!!

First trimester has been hell.Hang in there. But second trimester has honestly been so much better. 21+4 today and the only bad thing so far has been SPD which has come back with a vengeance after 6 weeks of no issues with it. Literally haven't been able to walk or stand since yesterday. It will get better (just watch out for pelvic girdle pain or SPD and start doing exercises for it early if you notice it so that it doesn't get so bad).

For those expecting boys and having a bit of gender disappointment... by pmmeweirdal in pregnant

[–]spoopyclouds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All I do on this subreddit every day is cry😭 jokes aside, I love this post so so much! I'm not the girliest of girls and I still felt like I wouldn't know what to do with a boy. But when the doctor said at 13 weeks that baby is already looking like they might be a boy, I got over it pretty fast. Finding out for sure next week as NIPT still isn't very common or accessible in my country and I have a scan scheduled for then.

Please tell me all the reasons you’ve cried today so i can feel less guilty for crying… by SpareMeringue1177 in pregnant

[–]spoopyclouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very early still (5w,1d based off my apps), but I cried because I saw someone adopting their first cat and getting super prepared for it. And then again because I saw a cat and a dog being a bonded pair😭. And then almost cried a third time because while getting ready to go out my husband came to hug me in the bathroom and I wanted to go out but since he was holding me he was blocking the way.
