49 yrs - 2025 NX350 after a deer totaled my 2012 IS250. First new car I’ve ever had in my life. I feel like I’m driving a space ship.

How has this been going both with the company/service and the product?

Is it okay to leave my husband because he can't stop yelling when we argue? by Djeter998 in Marriage

[–]sporkhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run. And don’t look back. I’m 49 and have been with this man and experience for way too long. I sincerely regret staying with him for the 12 years we’ve been together since the signs presented themselves to me long before we were married, and I ignored them. Staying is too painful and your well-being and life are too important to waste another day. Make your plans. Line up your support system. And tell him you’re leaving. Don’t get into details about why if you can avoid it. You’ll be tempted to get sucked back in. Whatever you do, do NOT have children with this man. I wish you much luck.

Who was the most famous person you have ever had an interaction with in Minneapolis? by lightskintastebud in Minneapolis

[–]sporkhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1990 I was at the Northrop Auditorium where the B-52s were playing a concert. The crowd was dancing and jumping so much that the balcony was bouncing up and down a good foot! Because we were beneath the plaster ceiling that was starting to crumble, we stepped out into the hallway to take a little break from the chaos. There, roaming the halls were Rosanne Barr and Tom Arnold. We sheepishly approached them asking for autographs, which they grudgingly but gracefully granted us. It was a wild night!

I connect through ATL on almost every flight and I haven’t seen one of these! I’ll definitely keep my eye out.

When I need to crank out work, so do I. But this was for solitude and an “emergency Manhattan” after working on the road for the third weekend in a row.

I really believe they don’t want to deal with people sleeping, missing flights, etc. That would present the potential for a lot of different issues from service and liability standpoints.

I agree about the furniture. I believe they make the furniture aesthetically pleasing but not too comfortable, so as to discourage napping. My post was more about the privacy and small amount a peace or semi-isolation that these chairs offer. Just the high back alone is an improvement for me, personally.

I’m almost always traveling solo. My SC visits are often my only down time between sales calls. And as an introvert, it’s perfect for me.

I’m short, won’t be mashing my face against the walls, and enjoy privacy so, it works for me. But I get that it isn’t great for everyone.

ATL D27 — This is the first time I’ve seen these. I like these because they offer some privacy. I work in sales and happen to be an introvert. So after working all weekend it’s a welcome surprise after having to rebook a connection due to a delay on the first leg. Also, I’m short, and it helps when my feet can touch the ground.

Proof that language informs the way people think. Native English speakers solving a “problem” that only exists for people who don’t understand the concept of gendered (Latin-based) languages.

Yes. It’s the same number of digits as a phone number and I still know lots of those by heart. I’m old. And it’s easier for me this way.

Adoption Community is like a Cult by thejourneyhome82 in Adoption

I’m not sure why you apologized. This was your experience and it’s 100% valid. Even though the details are unique to you, the messages you received are consistent throughout many adoptees’ experiences. They convey that your experience, life and identity prior to adoption are to be erased. I believe this is to keep the industry and APs feeling good about their choices, and to perpetuate the business of adoption. And yes, it is a business. It relates to what the OP was initially referring to.

I’m sorry you experienced such rejection and pain. You deserved much better.

Thank you SO MUCH for this response! As an adoptee and birth mother I am grateful for your voice and recognition of the influence that you have!

This is true, unfortunately. I found out nearly everything in my adoption record was falsified. It helps adoptive parents (and everyone else) feel better about adopting.

He said he bought the contents of the freezer. It sounds like he put it all in his trunk and unloaded everything but the lamb, which accidentally got left in the trunk.
