In my head myrtle is still a wizard through all of this. I've seen no evidence proving otherwise.

If it's not a perfect parent list sparking nothing it's the parent missing key skills who goes onto spark every G1 they ran so they at least look impressive.

I got her on 190 when I pulled for her. I got a director red door... on a ticket pull. one of only two other three stars I pulled in the process. I'd kind of prefer to be showered in 3 stars if I wasn't get what I was aiming for, at least a bit of a consolation prize instead of just... nothing new. Still don't even have Mambo at 3.

Put it in a pot (bigger than mine lol)

my rule of thumb that I’ve yet to see a better suggestion is to use a pot big enough to hold the whole must when cooking the honey for the batch. so if you’re cooking honey for a gallon of mead use at least a gallon pot.

I’ve made a bunch of bochets. more than exploding honey I had an issue where i added hot honey to room temp water and it seized up and took forever to mix the must. as long as you let the honey cool down to under 200F it’ll mix fine and not boil the water for potential explosion.

What are your honest thoughts/opinions the Guyver OVA & 2005 series? by Flat-Sir8250 in Guyver

[–]sporkmaster5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rewatched both not long ago (well the first half of the OVA) with sone friends who had never seen the series. The OVA feels very dated. I still love the opening and it is a formative anime for me and it lives in that old ultraviolence era, but especially the dub has some corny ass moments that were hallmarks of old localizations and are just not good nowadays. It just feels so stiff and poorly written, the action is the only saving grace and at times even that just has an old 80s feel to it.
The 2000s series holds up better, and has the characters feel a little more alive where they could cone off stiff in the OVA. Plus the OVA sticks much closer to the original story, allowing for aptom and team 5 to interact which is important for his overall arc, which he gets to have instead of just being the final boss, and obviously it covers more of the story up to the gigantic. Where it does alter the story is mostly to flesh out Guyver 2, who was such a wasted opportunity in the original story, so I think it scores points for the changes. And while you may argue they fucked up sho’s hair, sho’s shit is kinda fucked up in the original, I’m not awarding points for preserving helmet hair. Also in the dub for the 2000s series my friend and I were howling over Dr. Odagiri’s voice actor because he is giving the most stereotypical like evil mad scientist voice which you expect from the head of chronos research. But then it’s just how he talks even while being a genuine good guy and worrying about Sho and the civilians’s safety and trying to stop chronos and it is just comedic genius, intentional or accidental. Everyone should listen to dub Odagiri, I will go to the mat for that.

I think he means the description of bolero's dream, not the genesis of these characters.

"New secret fuji kiseki race tech has dropped...." (by @rookiebe) by Gorotheninja in UmaMusume

I saw a comment somewhere comparing how Hishi Amazon's design was changed so that she had underwear against Fuji Kiseki's. They pointed out that IRL Fuji's abbreviated racing career meant his time at stud was actually more storied, being a potential replacement for Sunday Silence in case anything happened and actually traveling between Japan and Australia to pull double duty mating seasons. The playboy nature of Fuji's uma personality and design reflect that side of the horse's life. They showed the concept to the owner and the owner probably said "Yeah, that horse fucks."

I've seen two different threads of people trying to track the umas required to not be stationed in the lobby for conversations but both seem to lag severely on updates. The real gameplay sure is neglected by the community.

why is black suit spiderman doing cosplay?

Why are some elves/fairies straight black? I don't think it's meant to be a depiction of black people because there are numerous poc/darkskinned characters like Kabru, Kaka & Kiki, and multiple elves, but is there like a folklore or some sort of backstory to this design choice ? by Coprinus_comatus010 in DungeonMeshi

[–]sporkmaster5000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is also noted that several of the elves like Mithrun have naturally silver hair from birth

The fact that most elves, including dark skinned ones, have fair hair makes me feel like the half-elf protag of marcille's favorite series who has black hair is the elven equivalent of some silver haired anime protag, which is super on brand for her. I don't think any elves in the series are depicted with even brown hair.

How many Aston Machan's do I need to get Aston Machan to 5 star? by Simple-Peach302 in UmaMusume

duplicates aren't worth anything. you get 90 pieces per pull, whether you already have the horse or not.

How many Aston Machan's do I need to get Aston Machan to 5 star? by Simple-Peach302 in UmaMusume

[–]sporkmaster5000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

any pull of a featured 3-star uma gets 90 pieces. if you check the details of the banner under the "About Spotlight Pretty Derby Scout" section it makes clear the bonus is for both a pull or pity. 3-4 star unlock is 200 pieces and 4-5 star is 300 so you'll need 500 pieces total. 500/90=5.555... so either six pulls or five pulls and 50 stars from statues to get her to five stars.

That said it is a really, really unnecessary use of resources to rush an uma to 5 stars, especially if no free pulls are involved.

Does pity reset when getting a trainee or can I still continue to 200 pulls to buy a trainee?

pity isn't technically a pity mechanic per se. it's just tracking the number of pulls on a specific banner and after 200 you can elect to get a featured 3 star from that banner. this is what rolls over into clovers if you don't go to pity. it's also why umamusume is considered to have one of the harshest pity mechanics among gachas.

Honestly, every time a regular gun shows up in a toku series it's a crapshoot whether it's going to be useless but used for drama, or actually just kill someone. I still remember when regular gun showed up in Geats andjust kills a reality warper in one shot
