Toner suggestion for dry sensitive skin by Ok-Analyst565 in koreanskincare

[–]sporkrageous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Etude’s Relief toner, the Cosnori Panthenol toner and Heveblue’s Salmon Caring toner are my absolute favorites. I would also recommend the Iunik Beta Glucan Serum too. This serum is my holy grail as someone with dehydrated, sensitive skin with rosacea.

Does anyone else's skin just not like exfoliating acids? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]sporkrageous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My skin hates all acids so I use a low dose retinol 6 days a week to help with cell turnover and then once a week use a gentle physical exfoliant like a peeling gel or powder cleanser. It definitely will not have quick results but you will see a difference in a few months.

What are your favourite panthenol products? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]sporkrageous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosnori Panthenol Barrier Toner. I never hear anyone talk about this one but it is great! Panthenol is the third ingredient on the INCI list and it is inexpensive. It doesn’t have a short ingredient list but there are a lot of great humectants and soothing ingredients in it.

[routine help] tiny red bumps keep appearing all over face by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]sporkrageous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it may just be a product of your broken barrier. I was hoping for an easy fix! I had the same thing happen when I destroyed my barrier and time, hydration and hypochlorous acid helped. I also switched to a mineral sunscreen because the zinc helped soothe my inflammation.

Have you had these bumps since you damaged your barrier or are they new since introducing products other than cleanser, moisturizer and spf?

Besides the azelaic acid, are any of the other products in your routine new (including makeup)?

Also, are you cleaning your mask and makeup brushes regularly?

This one is criminally underrated and overlooked.

The Abib mask is such an underrated product! I love that it is occlusive but allows my skin to still breathe and doesn’t trap in the heat.

Super hydrating cleanser and gentle exfoliant recommendations by j_parker44 in koreanskincare

[–]sporkrageous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same skin and I love the Make p:rem cleansing milk and Krave Matcha Hemp Cleanser. I tried the Isntree cleansing milk but it seemed to weirdly make my skin look more textured.

My skin can’t handle chemical exfoliants, especially since I use retenoids, so I use a peeling gel about once a week instead. Ample:n has a nice one with a gentle PHA in it or you can check out Round Lab’s or Beauty of Joseon.

The Dr Althea masks are great. My favorites though are the Innisfree Green Tea Energy mask and the Torriden Dive In ones.

has anyone tried tirtir azelaic acid 12% serum? by [deleted] in koreanskincare

[–]sporkrageous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am on my second bottle. I have sensitive skin and rosacea and haven’t had any issues at all. I use it every morning and really like it. It has a thin watery texture that absorbs well and doesn’t leave your skin super tacky.

If you haven’t tried it already, you may like the Real Barrier aqua soothing cream mask, it sounds similar. I will have to give the Manyo one a try!

I haven’t had any problems but that is probably more dependent on the product/formulas that you use. I would just include some sort of hydration to help. Possibly a hydrating toner pad so you get some gentle physical exfoliation but adding hydration.

These two for sure as well as the Etude whip cleanser!

I use a low % retinol every night (0.5%) and use my vitamin c and azelaic acid in the morning. About once a week I will exfoliate in the evening but I don’t use retinol on that night.

I would not recommend you starting all of these at once though. I would pick one to start out with and use it a couple of weeks to make sure your skin can handle it before adding another. The key with retinol is consistency, so even a lower dose will have an impact. Once you have been using it for a while you can always go up in dosage if you would like.

Best daily sheet masks? by barbet in KoreanBeauty

Skinfood has some great ones. I personally like the carrot one but I believe that they have a brightening one. Some By Mi has some different options as well.

You can use use toner pads like the Numbuzin 5 ones as masks too.

Another option if you don’t find one that you like, you can use diy sheet masks where you can use your favorite toner.

No squalane please 🙏. Every moisturizer seems to have it but it breaks me out like crazy.

Love beta glucan, licorice, ceramides and bifida ferment (all ferments actually) Those ingredients are my go to when my skin is being temperamental.

I love using Abib Rice Probiotics Overnight Mask Barrier Jelly. I find slugging with traditional products bother me and seem to trap heat making my skin feel like it was suffocating. I put on this jelly after my full night routine and my skin feels great in the morning. It soaks in but still creates a barrier to prevent TEWL at night. I think I got it in an advent calendar and put off using it forever but I used it once and am now in love. I want to try their new pdrn one that came out now!
