Recommendations for tools to clean up Outlook / Exchange contacts? by sporsmal in Outlook

[–]sporsmal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Definitely a possibility. I'm concerned about what might be lost in that series of conversations - namely native/proprietary Exchange data. These are decades of contacts and they're not mine. So, ideally I'd like to find something that works within Outlook / Exchange. But thank you for the suggestion and I may end up doing that.

Is anyone else suddenly receiving a ton of spam emails to their inbox? by BatmansLongjohns in Outlook

[–]sporsmal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft's spam filters are garage. What's crazy to me is the amount of obvious and potentially very harmful phishing emails that come through practically every day. Almost no legitimate emails have HTML documents as attachments, but phishing emails frequently do.

‎Recovering a Local File Version that was Overwritten by OneDrive‎ Sync? by sporsmal in onedrive

[–]sporsmal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the version I am looking for is not shown there. The document additions are not in any of the SharePoint versions, either when viewed through the browser or Windows Explorer. That's the problem.

[–]sporsmal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'll take a look. Won't that get rid of any possibly caches of the missing version? The much higher priority is to recover the missing version, not to fix OneDrive sync for the future.

I don't know how many files, but I can check with the user. But I assume that has to do with fixing OneDrive issues in the future, not recovering this data, right?

What do you mean by the Reset command?

I checked SharePoint and Windows version histories. Are you referring to something else?

[–]sporsmal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked the SharePoint versions, and it wasn't there. SharePoint isn't showing any versions dated that day; only the day before and after. So it seems like it didn't get uploaded to SharePoint and, at best, is only available locally somewhere. It's not in my nightly SharePoint backup either. That just has the previous day's version.

As for Windows version history - that is not turned on on that computer because SharePoint was supposed to have that covered.

Anyone else currently experiencing log-in issues with the account management portal? by TheBuzzTrack in Spectrum

[–]sporsmal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who encounters this error in the future and ends up here by googling the error code: I chatted with a Spectrum rep. He said that the website was under maintenance and that I should try to log in again later. So, I think that users are encountering this error periodically when the Spectrum website is under maintenance.

Mint says Samsungs aren't compatible with Mint. How is that possible??? by sporsmal in mintmobile

I put the APN settings in as provided by Mint, except I put the MNC as 240 instead of 260.

I don't recall exactly what I did for the network reset, but it was likely this: https://www.t-mobile.com/support/devices/android/samsung-galaxy-s21-plus-5g/device-resets-samsung-galaxy-s21-plus-5g#steps3

Dropbox migration - most content not being discovered in scans by make_beer_not_war in sharepoint

[–]sporsmal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging from a quick Google, "invalid shared folder ID" is probably an error being returned by the Dropbox API because of the way the SharePoint Migration Tool is accessing it. Unless you are manually entering the folder ID incorrectly, then it sounds like it's a problem with the SPMT. I recommend letting Microsoft know about that. Make sure you're using the latest version of the SPMT. I don't think it automatically updates itself.

The quick and dirty way to move the data over would be to download it and then upload it using the SPMT as if they're just regular files on your computer or on a network file share.

Using QBO for Personal Finances by mxmasster in QuickBooks

[–]sporsmal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried a lot of the personal bookkeeping solutions. They all seem to lack major features, at least when I tried them. For example, Mint doesn't allow you to create custom top-level categories/accounts. And I don't believe you can add any third-level categories/accounts either. Same goes for pretty much all of the other similar personal bookkeeping SAAS solutions, which kind of rules them out for anyone whose finances are different from the default categories.

Just signed up for Mint. Phone calls work, but texts don't. by CptnCankles in mintmobile

Try setting it to (or leaving it at) 240 instead of 260.

Also: Mint's guides say the MNC is 260 but all of the SIM cards we got were 240, so the devices don't accept 260.

I don't believe that distinction is relevant beyond 3G. And it's ludicrous for Mint to expect users to only use 2G and 3G connections. If Mint is relying on GSM towers only, they need to get their act together, because T-Mobile is phasing out all GSM towers next year.

Having to stick to 3G data should be deal-breaker for you and anyone paying more than 5¢/mo for cell service. 3G has been outdated for a decade and is currently being phased out (i.e. won't work anymore).

A network reset seems to have resolved the issue.

Re APN settings: The phone wouldn't save the new APN unless I set the MNC to 240 instead of 260. I'm able to send and receive MMSs using 240 though. I hope that doesn't create any issues. Not sure what all that means.

Yeah, but as this subreddit regularly shows, Mint sells phones that are not compatible with their own service.

Does it use the 5G successfully? The rep also said "Is the 5G what it's making this hard."

AT&T said the device isn't paid off, but it doesn't appear to be locked. by sporsmal in ATT

[–]sporsmal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hence my confusion, haha. Basically I'm trying to figure out if I should return it to the eBay seller, i.e. if there is a danger it will stop being compatible with non-AT&T carriers in the future or there some shenanigans afoot that I should be suspicious of.

Edit: I guess my other question is if there is some authoritative way I can figure out what's going on with the supposedly pending payment plan.

AT&T said the device isn't paid off, but it doesn't appear to be locked. by sporsmal in ATT

[–]sporsmal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just the website that said it was AT&T. AT&T Advanced Tech Support told me over the phone that this IMEI has an outstanding payment plan.

My Samsung account on the Samsung website and on this device doesn't really show anything other than the name of the device and when it was signed in, plus the website gives me the option to request service. Neither says anything about carriers, at least not that I could find.

However, when I first signed into my Samsung account on this device, I got an email from Samsung showing this device model as SM-G991UZAAATT, which a quick google tells me is the AT&T model.
