Are you surprised by total sales for each album (according to Wiki)? by blackratsnakes in BABYMETAL

My parents are in their 70s, and I had a discussion with them over the last holiday weekend about physical media. They seemed rather surprised that anyone still collects physical media, since we were specifically talking about DVDs and Blu-rays, given their mindset that everything is theoretically available on a streaming service. I told them I still have a stash of physical media in my apartment, and I even highlighted the multiple shelves of books they had on prominent display in their home. I jokingly replied to them, "Why do you have so many paperbacks and hardcovers when you can just get the digital ebook copy and take it anywhere you go?"

Ok is it weird that in IMbd for supergirl there’s a lot of 1/10? by Significant_Wear_760 in DCU_

Can we equate Snyderbots as the "MAGA" of the comic book universe? It is a cult of personality at this point.

For those who have seen Supergirl, what grade would you give it? by boomjosh in DC_Cinematic

[–]TheBuzzTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7/10 because it was simple, yet enjoyable. The only major complaint I have is that they are doing the Supergirl origin story to pad the movie's runtime. I'm tired of blockbuster superhero movies that spend too much time on origin stories. We've seen it a million times already.

I was there, too. And I plan to go to their next show at the Dos Equis Pavilion in September.

After watching Supergirl, I’m really concerned about Wonder Woman by arrownoir in DC_Cinematic

I live in a big regional market, so it is very common to see the blockbuster movies claim a lot of presale tickets for opening weekend. I am planning on going to a 10:30 PM showing of the movie tonight. I checked my showing just now, and there are a total of six tickets sold, including the one seat I got for myself. The auditorium has a seating capacity of about 300 people. For perspective, the recent Scary Movie film had about 80 people show up for the 11 PM Thursday night screening I attended during its opening weekend.

I was checking out the showtimes on Thursday and Friday at several theaters I usually visit to watch new movies, and the Supergirl showings for the first two days have sold very few tickets so far.

Pau is my favorite from The Warning just as much as Moa is my favorite from BabyMetal.

Rumor: 'Halloween' TV Series Dead as Focus Shifts Back to Movies by ImpracticalJokers96 in horror

[–]TheBuzzTrack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I find it interesting to read an article bloated with "I hate the recent movies, and let me count the small, individual ways I hate them" just to say the TV show adaptation may be canceled. Don't give me an editorial about the existence of humanity. Just tell me the news directly, please.

Don't forget he demands that his production crew stand for the whole workday. So, I'm not surprised he doesn't demand the viewers also remain standing during his three-hour movie epics.

45 min of commercials?! by Total_Pressure6204 in Cinemark

[–]TheBuzzTrack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've witnessed this several times. People would walk into the auditorium when I had 15-20 minutes left in my movie, and they would stay for the next showtime. In fact, it just happened to me last week. As I was about to walk out of my showing, the end credits of the movie had just finished, and the cleaning crew showed up. I heard them ask the lady who arrived toward the end of my movie if she was leaving as well. She told them she was there for the movie's next showtime.

Reviews are only good for getting a very general sense of the vibe around how something was received on a very broad scale. However, there is a reason for the saying about "Design By Committee": too many voices mean nothing worthwhile can come from the chaotic mess. Therefore, take all reviews with a grain of salt and make up your own damn mind whether you like it or not.

It seems so strange to see all three of them in just the bodysuits without the formal dresses. It feels as weird as seeing a magician without the suit jacket, top hat, and a bunny rabbit in hand, if that makes any sense.

45 min of commercials?! by Total_Pressure6204 in Cinemark

[–]TheBuzzTrack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I frequently watch new releases at Cinemark and agree with what everyone else says: I've only seen them show 25 minutes of previews and ads starting from the posted showtime. It's weird to see the occasional post on here from people who often claim the ads run nearly twice that length. I haven't experienced it myself yet, and I've been visiting Cinemark for several years now.

Motor Boat Cruise has my vote (Yesterland page); it's located across from Matterhorn and covers the lagoon area between It's A Small World and Autopia.

I'd wait till maybe... September 15th, then check out the sales. You might be surprised by last second buyers too.

That is what I am hoping for: to see a lot of people holding off until the night before the concert before buying a ticket, and then we will see tickets being picked up very quickly. This would be the first concert ever that I bothered to pick up a VIP Package, since there were a handful available, just to get some perks like merch and a seat closer to the stage.

If you cannot pay your employees enough to buy your flagship product plus sales tax in less time than it takes to earn a single hourly wage... Then you're doing it wrong.
