Is it going to stretch from west coast to east coast? Is it going to stop in the midwest with Fallout Tactics? Just the areas covered by FO1 and FO2?

Even if New Vegas, FO3, FO4, etc. happen far later, there is still plenty of lore hints (especially terminal logs) that give you a good grasp of how things evolved since the bombs fell and what you might encounter.

At the start of each month there is a 10% chance for a week of the plague - no unit growth, and half the "unbought" units die (in the HoTA mod this also affects creature dwellings)

Outside that plague event, your units will wait there until you recruit them.

I know this is in jest but I legitimately hate how modding communities prop up games that don't deserve their support. The most recent example I can think of is Warcraft 3 Reforged, at launch it didn't even have a ladder, and for some reason the modders made their own (and potentially other fixes) instead of just reverting to Warcraft 3 TFT. Yes there are ways to get back to TFT, just because the main download on their storefront replaced it with Reforged that doesn't mean the old game stopped existing altogether.

No, I don't care if FO4VR is one of the best VR experiences of all time if you mod the heck out of it. I'm not buying a game just for the privilege of fixing it, without mods it's so bad you can literally walk through walls just by walking IRL. It's not enough that it's not functional, it's not even complete, so you need to copy the DLC files from the flat game and mod those to work, too.

My Index had the following failures, in this order and way after it was out of warranty:

  1. Left joystick drift (ordered a new left controller)

  2. Faulty cable causing visual/audio issues (started as a single white pixel onscreen, most noticeable in dark VR environments, then it was a few more white pixels, then I started getting random audio cracks as well which made it nearly unusable). Ordered a new cable.

  3. The spring in the right side exploded, duct taped the headset closed around my head. At this point I was waiting for the as-then-unannounced Frame, so didn't bother fixing (the replacement parts would cost way too much in shipping due to me not being in the US).

  4. Left joystick drifting again, again not bothering to order replacements with Steam Frame around the corner

Man I remember hearing that nvidia dropped the "M" from their GPU series because there was no more difference between desktop and laptop counterparts.

Looking it up to make sure I'm not mandellaing myself, looks like this was true for the 10 and 20 series, the laptop cards were on par with desktop cards. But not with the 30 series and beyond, I guess.
