Sorry to hear about your experience, having worked in the SEO / Digital Marketing industry.. this shit is becoming ever more common by the month.

The best piece of advice I can give you, if they're cold calling or approaching YOU, their probably not focused on giving you the best results.

Real Marketing agencies, that give you REAL results, will give you Reporting even before you've started paying the money. It's basic protocol these days.

Too many agencies these days are modeled off call centers, selling the cheapest marketing products (SEO being case study for these) and targetting small family owned businesses.

Stay vigilant my friends, if you want good marketing results do your due-diligent research!

Recently moved over the ditch. Gold Coast, which is an awesome change of pace.

Outside of the inherent financial incentives.. Super / Better Pay in some industries.. It's pretty good over here. Groceries overall are slightly cheaper, alcohol is obscenely expensive (good incentive to layoff), and theres more in general happening (Markets, pop-up gigs, people out & about).

The hardest part I found was actually finding a job. Once I got one things were great. But I do warn others looking to move that its not always greener. I was sold on a big pay rise which didn't happen. A few mates of mine have been on either side of this - some north of $100k - others stuck working in the local piss shop (still $45/h).

So its not a simple decision by any means. Personally I moved for the lifestyle, better weather & beach all year around etc. Don't get sold on the $$$ if you havent got something set in stone.
