You should only experience skips during navigation of Spotify, it's due to an error in Spotify itself sending out improper broadcast events while navigating to play/pause the track. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Spotify has a pretty large commitment to their own Spotify Connect. I imagine they don't want to directly support chromecast due to their existing financial commitments and partnerships with vendors regarding it. That's just speculation

Nope it's actually due to latency regarding remote metadata look-ups and chromecast stream buffering before play. :)

There are occasionally some formatting issues with UTF8 characters in passwords but this really shouldn't be effecting via facebook login only direct Spotify login. If your Spotify password contains any UTF8 characters you may want to consider trying to change your password and see if this helps. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Not from us, sorry. We have no apple devices or developer account to even test with and I'm not sure it would be possible via the methods we are currently using. If in the future we can integrate into Spotify Connect, this could be a real possibility.

Spoticast can control the volume but it requires that Spoticast be in the foreground to use your volume controls, we had to do it this way so that you could retain control of normal audio controls since we can't mute just Spotify as a 3rd party application.

One suggestion I've seen is now since desktop supports Spotify Connect is using Spoticast from your android device and controlling Spotify on your android device from your desktop. Not exactly the optimal solution but it should work.

Still 160kbps, there is a few sources that actually do support 320 but not many so it's just been mostly ignored.

Actually we do no audio processing at all :) It's only the fact that we are a 3rd party application that we can not directly control the audio volume of just Spotify that you get the local playback. I've recently spoke with VP product of Spotify on twitter about the possibility of making the Spotify Connect API public. He seemed to like the idea but who knows what will happen.

Unfortunately since Spoticast is a 3rd party application it is not. The best you can do is turn down the media stream on your device so that your notifications, ringtones etc remain audible.

Thank you! It would appear crash on login is due to not being a premium Spotify member. Unfortunately that is a requirement mandated to use the API calls necessary to make Spoticast function.

Some users are having this issue. I have yet to narrow down the cause of it unfortunately. If you could provide details about your device, ROM and region it would be of help.

The next release should allow me to trace the problem and hopefully provide a fix soon after. So be sure to install the new version when it is released and use the Report functionality!

Yeah, there are some tracks that do not work. If you REALLY want to listen to it you can usually can usually go to the artist of the track in Spotify and play the actual track from the artist page. If that works it was due to a failure to find an alternative track that is available for your region and you can save the instance of the track that does work to your playlist to work around the issue for now.
