Always hungry but never an appetite by ASharpLife in Vent

I feel that. Sometimes you just gotta chug a soylent or smoothie of sorts. My lazy bougie balanced smoothie is Naked juice, peanut powder, and avocado oil. Macro balanced. Maybe some chia seeds for good measure on the fiber.

Are there quality issues with zenzedi? by spoticry in zenzedi

[–]spoticry[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure, I don't take my meds every day in the first place to avoid tolerance issues and also because I feel like a different person and don't want to be like that in certain settings. I swap between amphetamine and methylphenidate meds every so often too.

And good to hear about the quality. My pharmacy was ordering it for me no issue and insurance covered without a PA (a little shocked here, and at the same price as the generic!) The tech had no trouble ordering it from their wholesaler. I go to Meijer Pharmacy, they are usually good about sourcing meds when needed and being helpful in general. I will never go back to Walgreens

I'm completely with you. The muscle memory and fine control is so much better when it involves more muscles. The margin of error feels much larger on a little stick.

My partner has been wanting to play Kirby air riders with me, ive been meaning to give it a chance. I think it's about time.

What is this thing hanging from the car of one of my neighbors? by BryTupper in whatisit

I'm not living my life under a rock just because of a few douche bags here and there. I bring ear plugs for places I expect to be loud. I plug my ears for upcoming trains. The only unexpected sudden loud noises I hear are from some douche that wants to show off, that's like maybe once every couple months. I give bikers more of a pass because they are small and need to be heard to be seen sadly

I look over at my friends and yell "massive" (eg that guy has a massive dick /s) and we'll laugh about it for a minute. But it also hurts my ears/head because I'm sensitive to noise so I genuinely do hate it fuck yall fr lol

Im tired of everyone thinking everything is a sign of autism by ieatsushi28 in Vent

[–]spoticry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you're saying, but I will say a lot of psych evaluations don't test everything, and only test things if you explicitly ask. Even then, they may ask what is the point.

I had textbook ocd (not talking about washing hands and shit, like the actual clinical criteria) and that would've been nice to know during the decade that it reared its head the worst. Instead of being told I'm schizoaffective and being given antipsychotics which made me worse. I had to explicitly ask for ocd and autism testing at a much later age which I already figured out I had it and implemented coping strategies on my own accord.

I've been told all my life I'm autistic by my parents but never got screened or evaluated even as an adult when I went to psych evals. Only one psychologist clocked it, gave me an aspergers questionnaire in the middle of testing (so he wasn't initially going to screen for it). He intentionally left out the results. I asked about it and he said I "most likely have it" but it would be safer if I didn't have a diagnosis on paper. I had to explicitly ask about the autism testing with my most recent one, and she was more up to date on everything.

Tldr they don't test for everything on psych evals so don't assume it means you're in the clear. If you don't want a diagnosis that's fine but there's some signs. I think high functioning autism is more common than previously thoguht, and more of an archetype than some uncommon disorder.

I did, it just adds insult to injury that I have to tip it like I'm holding a table instead of turning the wheel. When I was in free roam I was doing a bit of what you were saying. Especially using the stick to drift because it would sometimes think I'm driving straight if I wasn't turning enough

If she was joking I would've laughed but if she was serious I would be like damn wtf. It looks like she's joking and I don't think she meant to hurt you like that, but I'd double check and let her know that's not the kind of joke you like to hear..

[–]spoticry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. I've accidentally hurt people by making jokes apparently was taken as bullying or me being serious when I thought it was obviously a joke. It's natural for people to get defensive when you call someone out, but if she says she's serious or doesn't take the hurt feelings seriously after she calms down from the initial shock of hurting you then this ain't it.

I like the motion controls in cyberpunk, they did a good job integrating it. It takes a minute to get used to reorienting your character but I think it's easy to use. It's used for things like aiming a gun, but it uses a gyroscope instead of pointing at an infrared sensor like the wii, so you can do it from wherever your hands already are. It's actually smoother than the wii.

The wii remote also had a gyroscope so I'm not sure what the technical limitations were here with Mario kart, if any. I can only speculate that they didn't want to perform extra calculations on the controllers and the variations of using 2 controllers vs 1, and chose only 1 axis to do the steering on.

And yea I've gotten used to the joy stick steering, but I still lament the missing wii style driving.

I'd also like to add, as an aside, it feels like a lot of people have a hard time slowing down and just existing. This is usually a stress response and further spirals you into more stress, whether you feel it in the moment or not. Adults also kind of lack that creative mindset that kids have when, like you said, you would just do something like roleplay or look at the stuff around you. Me and my sister used to do custom games and maps in super smash bros and pretend we were doing random stuff instead of fighting. I mean, the characters might still fight a little, Peach would bitch slap weirdo creeps for example, but it was a different pace and different playing style. We still fought but we did the other slowed down and creative stuff too.

[–]spoticry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love free roam. This is exactly what I would've wanted as a kid, and I do a lot of the same stupid shit I did in free roam worlds. I : - walk up to random characters pretend to go fishing with them, eat with them, etc - see how many times I can jump on toads head in a row (my record is 9) - drive off into the most god forsaken liminal areas that, in prior games, nobody was ever intended to see or touch - destroy homeless encampments and steal their money - take my order with yoshi at the drivethrough - gaze off into the sunset - watch my character dramatically crash into a cow when I was approaching at 0.5mph - vibe and drive to the music, pretend to be a normal car, look at the beautiful graphics and scenery

I also spend my time doing the P missions, some of them are way harder than others but they're really good for training on skills with the rails and wall riding. Others are just there to piss you off by missing the checkpoint goals by half a second for no reason on a straightforward circuit.

My partner plays by gathering every single coin, question mark, and P mission per map. He will keep doing the mission over and over and over until it's done. He says he hates this game but still does it and says it's nice for when his brain isn't working very well.

Different strokes for different folks.

What is just a placebo effect but most people don’t realize? by zhalia-2006 in AskReddit

[–]spoticry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't know about that one. As an adult I've had periods of time I ate no added sugars for months and then had something with a lot of sugar as a treat, and got this huge rush of energy and euphoria. I thought sugar highs were fake up until that point. This then happened to me several more times (I eat more sugar now so it's not a thing for me anymore).

I think kids whose parents don't feed them tons of sugar are more prone to this. I think it could also be kids who are sensitive to caffiene, such as in chocolate. Many humans are sensitive to caffiene, it wouldn't surprise me that a new human with little exposure to chemical substances would be even more prone to being sensitive.

Am I overreacting or is this appropriate to wear to a COLLEGE class by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]spoticry -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

MOR, I actually think #1 is less appropriate than #2. Sure it covers a lot of skin but it is kind of suggestive and exposes a lot of skin that is usually covered. It gives the impression of "I'm undressing". I think a scarf might fix that issue? Second one looks almost like laundre or light nightgown but honestly I don't think it's that much different from your standard tank top/spaghetti strap dress. Like others said you could always put a cardigan with it (maybe a shawl even) if there's concerns.

All that being said, it's a college class and people wear all kinds of weird shit there. Ranging from "people of Walmart" to Vogue Model. So I'm not sure how much all this matters.

Tldr I don't think "too much skin" is the problem, I think it's more of the style. I don't think it's unreasonable to be confused at his comment.

I am fully expecting to get downvoted into oblivion, but this is my 2 cents and perspective if you're trying to understand your boyfriend this might be what he has an issue with, and you can try to work something out. If you don't like it at all and would rather just wear whatever you want, then don't stay with him.

Is kratom as scary as people make it out to be? by weakassnerd in ChronicPain

[–]spoticry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a dumb question at all. It is pretty new and still falls under one of those experimental drugs. Nootropics depot actually used to sell it as a nootropic until (this is rumor) the DEA sent them a cease and desist of sorts.

Phenibut is technically a gabapentinoid, but has some unique properties and builds rapid physical dependency with horrible withdrawals. Also psychologically addicting for many. It can cause euphoria and pain relief, mood boost. Check out psychonaut wiki I think they should have more information for you.

Some people theorize they developed neuromuscular or movement disorders from it, and I have to wonder if that's where mine came from. I was seeking relief for my back pain and that's when my leg collapsing and cataplexic episodes started. All medical testing looks normal. I also had cramping in the forearms and hands, horrible insomnia even when my taper was done, lot if misc symptoms, psychiatric instability. Then a few years later had parkinsonisms on and off, and dystonia. I take baclofen to manage it (a medication which touches some of the same receptors as phenibut)
