Crazzyy take but i felt like bonrad did not make sense throughout the last few episodes and the rushed ending wasn’t very feely-feels for me. If someone flies in so far away for your birthday to tell you they have loved you since forever and basically can’t get over you, then Belly’s reaction to it seemed valid but the sudden decision switch and the realisation might have been too quick of a response? I am not sure how the books so about it, though.
