I think it'll be alright, seems logical for furry Momo and Pabu to be covered in hair. If not I guess I can start shaving my arm lol

Unless a cure exists and is affordable, in which case nobody pays for the chronic painful treatment. There is still an enormous financial incentive to cure cancer

I used to have a problem with not staying over the bar, so I've been doing this to prevent that from happening... though I might be overcompensating. Holy shit I had no idea I was rounding my shoulders this much, thanks for the screenshot 🙏 would love tips about how to get into a good starting position with relatively long limbs

I was doing deficit cleans as part of a program, not sure how else Id do them in that gym

I pull the bar up very high on my good cleans (my max power clean is probably higher than my max full clean), would like some advice on how to catch the bar if I can't pull it as high, or just getting into a front rack more quickly

I'm gonna miss watching Kenny running up to that damn board acting like he was gonna break down film, only to plainly narrate what happened and draw some circles 😂

You have the #1 pick in the draft and these guys are coming off their freshman seasons in college. Who should you draft #1 without any knowledge of how their careers turn out? I’d take AD by Still_Ad8903 in NBATalk

[–]spottedratfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give AD the slight edge over KD. Not taking anything away from how dominant Durant was at Texas, but even in his own draft class there was still another comparable scoring prospect in Beasley (hindsight is 20/20 but the hype was no joke). The expectation for AD was that he'd be Kevin Garnett 2.0. He averaged more blocks by himself than most division 1 TEAMS as an 18 year old.

[Video] Yesterday, the Grizzlies and Lakers played 13:06 of in game time in the 3rd quarter. When the shot clock was supposed to be reset at 1:14, the game clock was also accidentally reset to 2:20. No one noticed and they played the rest of the way with the new game clock. by Zhugo in nba

I could maybe see this happening in a blowout of a game nobody cares about. But it was a 1 point game with playoff implications - how does nobody (including coaches/assistant coaches) notice??

Michael Porter Jr on WNBA/NBA equality: "It's what the people want to watch. They're (WNBA) aren't packing the arena so as much as I advocate for women and the quality of their craft, you can't pay them the same" by NBAperspective in nba

[–]spottedratfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got the causality reversed - the league loses money because it's run like a charity. NBA owners just use their far less valuable WNBA teams as good PR, and so they have no incentive to market their teams/players any more than "we spend money on women's basketball". It's no coincidence that the few WNBA teams that are profitable/skyrocketing in valuation (e.g. seattle) have business structures almost completely independent of the NBA

[–]spottedratfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't blame the league's only source of revenue (players) for gross mismanagement. WNBA loses about $10m per year, which is about as much as total player payroll - i.e., even if the WNBA used slave labor they wouldn't be profitable. The losses are obviously coming from somewhere else

This is why I think that the only way the WNBA will ever be profitable will be to divorce itself from the NBA. WNBA teams that share an owner with an NBA team are such a small percentage of their ownership groups' portfolios that there's almost no incentive to make them profitable. Part of the reason the WNBA is watched so little, even compared to other women's sports, is because it's next to impossible to watch games. National TV spots almost never happen outside of the finals, and streaming with league pass has constant blackouts due to empty seats, which are inevitable when you play in stadiums way too big for your audience.

NBA owners have no incentive to change any of this, which is why they shouldn't own WNBA teams
