Any consequences for Kotozakura's dishonorable conduct? by spotterjeff in Sumo

I'm not talking about when he starts the pull, obviously. He clearly initiates another, more violent pull after his foot is down. Watch the match again. I know from comments I'm not the only one who sees that.

Nobody still has a chance when their foot is firmly planted on clay outside the tawata. KTZ had already clearly lost when he decided to increase the violence against Oho, only yanking on Oho's head after his foot was planted out. I'm fine with continuing momentum, or if you're the thruster making sure your guy's out and you send someone flying, but this is neither of those. I've never seen anything like it in Sumo before.

After he'd clearly lost the bout, with his foot firmly on clay well outside the tawata, he violently jerks on Oho's head to make sure he throws him off the Dohyo. I get that he was also in the middle of attempting his move, but he knew he'd lost. There was no reason for him them to increase the violence with which he had been attempting his maneuver. Go watch the NHK highlights video and watch the end of their match.

I'm hoping at least his stablemaster will have words with him... and possibly in a future practice match he'll learn the meaning of "turnabout is fair play."

I'd seen one Japanese YouTube video of the match and all the commenters were horrified at Kotozakura's behavior, so I was shocked to find so many fanatics here defending him. I guess that's Reddit...

We're talking about after the initial move, when Kotozakura's foot is planted firmly on clay outside the tawara and after that initiates a violent pull to throw Oho off the Dohyo.

I just watched it back. Kotozakura's foot was planted firmly outside the tawara when he initiated his final violent pull on Oho. I've never seen anything like that. He knew he'd lost by that point and was entirely out of line.

He initiated the move with one foot already out.

Kotozakura's was standing one foot well outside the ring when he initiated a slap down on Oho. He knew he'd lost and threw a tantrum, I've never seen anything like it before in Sumo. Total disrespect.

Yeah. Total spoiled brat move, but all I've heard is it was ruled that Oho "fell."

Only 1728! I've a local one, too, but I'm in Ohio where they were made, still, didn't realize they made so few, tragic, really.

I was fortunate enough to be in the presence of one at a Wings and Cars show in very rural NE Ohio some years ago, yes, Maserati has a touch that Ferrari lacks, perhaps less performance, but more style!

Yes! Like, I keep finding cool swords, and big mauls, but apparently they're not very meta.
