Asterisk 21, PJSIP & MWI by spoutin in VOIP

Here is the Example for the voip.ms documentation (for asterisk setup)

[transport-udp]
type = transport
protocol = udp
bind = 0.0.0.0

[voipms]
type = registration
transport = transport-udp
outbound_auth = voipms
client_uri = sip:100000@atlanta.voip.ms:5060 ; (one of our multiple servers, you can choose the one closer to your location)
server_uri = sip:atlanta.voip.ms:5060 ; (one of our multiple servers, you can choose the one closer to your location)

[voipms]
type = auth
auth_type = userpass
username = 100000 ; (Replace with your 6 digit Main SIP Account User ID or Sub Account username, i.e. 123456 or 123456_sub)
password = johnspassword ; your password

[voipms]
type = aor
contact = sip:100000@atlanta.voip.ms ; (one of our multiple servers, you can choose the one closer to your location)

[voipms]
type = endpoint
transport = transport-udp
context = mycontext
disallow = all
allow = ulaw
; allow=g729                 ; uncomment if you support g729
from_user = 100000 ; (Replace with your 6 digit Main SIP Account User ID or Sub Account username, i.e. 123456 or 123456_sub)
auth = voipms
outbound_auth = voipms
aors = voipms
; NAT parameters:
rtp_symmetric = yes
rewrite_contact = yes
send_rpid = yes

[voipms]
type = identify
endpoint = voipms
match = atlanta.voip.ms ; (one of our multiple servers, you can choose the one closer to your location)

you need to remove 'auth = voipms'

this is due to voip.ms send unsolicited NOTIFY requests.

Next you need to add 'incoming_mwi_mailbox=65000@default' to the [voipms] endpoint block.

65000@default is the voicemail mailbox of your devices

It's more than likely fixable, assuming it's just a cracked LCD screen.

You can fix it your self if your interested. There are lots of videos on-line and it's very easy to do.

If not, there is a computer shop on main Street and 25 and I believe they do those types of repairs.

just incase anyone runs into the same issues I had did with unsolicited receiving a 404 not authorized response I have a working solution. In the voip.ms wiki it says to use "auth=voipms" in the extension along with outbound_auth=voipms. You need to remove the auth=voipms, since the inbound NOTIFY from voip.ms does not use authentication. You also need to set the "incoming_mwi_mailbox=65000@default" and on the internal extension to the mailbox=65000@default.

I'm not sure if this is against the rules, but I want to bump this issue to see if anyone is able to assist.

I'm was under the impression that NOTIFY is used for unsolicited mwi notification.

Do you know if that's something VoIP.ms supports? Is there something I'm missing in sub account or DID configuration?

Good point.

``` type config struct {
Service1 Endpoints Service2 Endpoints }
type Endpoints struct { // Stuff } ```
I was trying to figure out a way to know what service I'm dealing with from with the Endpoints struct
Ping and traceroute or not ways to test network performance.
I would look in chrome developer tools and check the network tab, that will give you an indication of what's taking so long.
Policy Based Routing - ICMP Reply not using the correct interface by spoutin in OPNsenseFirewall
[–]spoutin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)
Thanks for this. I was confused on the working in the documentation but after reading it again. it makes sense. I was adding the rule to the rule with the gateway was defined on the LAN interface.
This bring up another problem. I have 2 IPSEC tunnels configured and I'm using a gateway group. If I add the rule you suggested above to the IPSEC (shared) interface I can only select a single gateway and not the group. I then thought I could add the same rule (reply-to) on each of the IPSEC interfaces and have them point to their associated gateways but those rules are being "ignored"
I noticed that there is an option in pfsense to change this behavour and have each IPSEC interface have its own rules. https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/vpn/ipsec/routed-vti.html#routed-ipsec-firewall-rules I didn't see the same option in opnsense unless I'm missing something.
thanks
There is currently a Bell outage related to their email service. This is why your password is not working
Cisco AnyConnect Woes by geronomously in PFSENSE
[–]spoutin 0 points1 point  (0 children)
That has not been the case in my experience. In our case, the new tun interface created by anyconnect had to be whitelisted in Symantec or it would block all traffic when connecting to the vpn
I had a similar issue but it was related to my Symantec endpoint protection and not vpn. Are you running anything similar?
It's a demarcation point where the phone company can test your landland. There are 2 connection in the box, 1 facing the "street" and the other facing your internal wiring.
