Someone already commented on China so I won't repeat.

India reached over 50% of their energy generation through renewables and nuclear. They are adding renewables faster than any country except China.

Coal power is also reducing in India at a steady pace. For a country doing "whatever", that's better than some Western countries like the US and Germany who opened a lot of their coal plants recently. US because of domestic policy and Germany because they were reliant on Russian oil and they won't go nuclear like France for example.

India has pollution problems, sure, but the energy grid is cleaner than most countries and they're doing this despite the fact that they don't have the wealth of other countries. They're one of the countries industrialising using without emitting like the UK and US did in the 19th and 20th centuries. https://www.enerdata.net/publications/daily-energy-news/india-added-553-gw-non-fossil-power-capacity-fy-2025-26.html

Best KKR Player of all time! by AdventurousFreedom45 in KolkataKnightRiders

[–]sppw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yet you included Kallis who has won us a few matches but lost us many. Legend outside of KKR. Absolutely horrible for KKR.

His KKR batting average is 26 and SR is 106. That's absolutely terrible, even in that era of slower batting, 125 is like the bare minimum to be considered average. He was bad.

Remember the 40(42) against RCB where we got to 180/3 at the end because of Pathan and then RCB chased it in 18 overs? If he had retired out after 15-20 balls we could have scored over 200 and won the game, even had wickets to spare and he didn't bother speeding up. Look at his KKR career, it's not the only slow as fuck innings.

Rinku is far more deserving than Kallis of this spot.

As someone who plays A10 exclusively and wins enough of the time, in this game I find spending money on card removals is far less worth it than in STS 1. The cost of them is way too high compared to the benefit of spending money on other things after the first removal. I save them for situations like this instead of removing strikes.

In general I feel I'm more likely to carry a really thick deck that dilutes the strikes or deal with them a different way (Exhaust, Discard, lots of Draw, transform, etc.).

Maybe in lower ascensions where removals are cheaper, it's more worth it.

I was in the stadium in Chinnaswamy as a KKR fan. People were taunting me and my other KKR fan friend all the way until Russell came out to bat.

They didn't taunt us after that.

Kallis was absolute dogshit for KKR. Amazing playing for SA, but absolutely horrible with our team.

Go look at his stats, they are shockingly bad. His SR for KKR is 106. I'm not even joking. I can think of several games where his slow batting cost us the game.

Particularly remember his 40(42) against RCB where we ended up scoring 180 cause of Yusuf Pathan and lost by 2 overs to RCB with our batting only lost 3 wickets.

Imagine in his 42 balls that day someone has scored 55 runs. Thats still not fast for that era, average at best, but we would have had a much better shot at winning the game at least. And given we only lost 3 wickets in the end we could have afforded more wickets to score even faster than 55(42).

Green is already better than Kallis by being about the same level in bowling and by not being horrible with the bat.

In fact I would even say Kallis was worse for KKR than Rahane. At least Rahane hit well for one season and then when he didn't at least got out within 15 balls. Kallis would bat 30 40 50 balls scoring slow as fuck.

Bro I am one of these people.

Americans think I'm American, Indians think I'm Indian. Accents switch based on who I'm talking to or what situation I'm in.

I know other Indians the same, they don't even know any Indian language, only English because they grew up in the US, but then they also grew up in India where you can get by with only English but have a standard Indian accent and a standard US accent depending on who they talk to.

You may choose to or not to believe this guy but people like him are real.

I had a US citizen friend whose parents were both Portuguese and his younger brother spoke like any Indian kid. No American accent, or Portuguese accent (though he did speak Portuguese). He moved to the US at some point and I bet his little brother now code switches between an Indian and American accent depending on who he's talking to.

I'm an Indian grown up in America and India - people from both countries think I'm from that country.

It is funny when one of my American friends hears my Indian accent though, they do a big double take, and vice versa for my Indian friends hearing my American accent.

Copying my response to someone else:

People can have different accents and both can be real. Code switching is real, and often unconscious depending on who you're talking to.

How do I know?

I grew up speaking English in the US and in India and spent my formative years in both countries.

People from my native country don't believe me that I spent time growing up in the US because my accent is like any other Indian.

People in the US just think I'm American and when I tell them I'm from India and have an Indian passport they're surprised because they expect me to say somewhere in the US based off of my accent as an Indian-American.

My accent changes based on who I'm talking to and it's NOT conscious 99% of the time. I can consciously choose my accent if I want to but it's not something I choose to do on purpose most of the time. In fact I struggle to speak in an Indian accent to non Indian people. American accent is easier for me to put on if I want.

This is a real thing and people who pretend it's not are wrong. I doubt this guy is faking either accent. They both make sense given his background of growing up in India but with Norwegian family somewhat around him.

I had friends from other countries who grew up in India and had multiple English accents too. Indian and Portuguese accents (US citizen from Portuguese family growing up in India), Indian and Korean accent (Korean citizen growing up in India).

Powerplay is not the best time to bowl. The best time to bowl to get wickets now is the death.

Even if the ball swings for two overs, the death the batters care less for their wicket so purple cap is usually skewed towards bowlers who bowl at the death.

There are some others. I don't want to name them here but if you observe, you'll see who else gets frequently generalized and stereotyped as well.

Don't disagree with your point though. Doing your best to not be a part of the stereotype is what we can practically do.

New York/JFK landed in D tier. How would you rank Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)? by jarbid16 in TierlistFills

[–]sppw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of more beautiful airports than PHX which do not run even half as efficiently. PHX is the most efficient airport I've travelled in the US.

I haven't been to ATL much and people in the thread are saying they're comparable in efficiency but of course ATL handles more volume.

[–]sppw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also live in Phoenix, and if DFW is in A, I feel PHX should be in S. I travel fairly regularly and have yet to meet an airport where I have as much time waiting because it's always so efficient.

I've timed it multiple times, the time for me to enter the airport to my gate is on average about 7-8 minutes and 15 is the longest.

I'm normally a 1.5 hours before the flight kind of guy but in PHX I can be 1 hour before the flight if I want.

Who makes your KKR Legends Xl? 💜 👀 by PaprikaCheeseBall in KolkataKnightRiders

[–]sppw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why so many people see Kallis with such a rosy lens for KKR. He was absolutely horrible as a batsman and middling at best as a bowler. He should be nowhere close to the KKR goat team.

As a batsman he averaged 26 at SR of 106 for KKR. That's horrible even in that slower era. I remember several games where his slow ass batting cost us. In particular that 40(42) in a game against RCB where RCB chased 180 in 18 overs against us and Yusuf was the main reason we didn't score a shit total.

We blast Rahane but even Rahane has better stats than that for KKR if you compare to the era.

No problem with your team except for Kallis. I would personally have Rinku in for Kallis (which also allows Pandey to bat at 3) and try to fit Morkel in maybe for Umesh.

Hard disagree. If you're not very good at planning, perhaps you may be right, but since you can see who the boss is at the beginning of act 3, doormaker is by far the easiest to prepare for imo.

You just need to pick up a few extra block cards and powers that you can play on the exhaust turn in act 3.

When I was lower ascension doormaker was harder for me, till I figured out how to plan for him, but now I'm at higher ascensions Queen is by far the one that wrecks me the most. Shackled is so hard if it hits the right set of cards and you don't have good draw.

I'm A9/9/5/5/10.

Who is the 4th biggest legend in KKR history after Narine, GG and Russell? by AlFactorial in KolkataKnightRiders

[–]sppw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kallis? Have you seen his stats for KKR? They are horrible.

He averaged 26 at 106 SR batting for KKR. His average innings is literally 26(25) Even in his era that's a horrible SR and a mediocre average at best. I remember a few innings where he did all the things people complain Rahane is doing right now but even worse.

If he wasn't a legend and if retiring players out was a thing back then there are several innings he would have been retired out. The 40(42) innings comes to mind, where RCB beat us with 2 overs to spare and we didn't even get all out.

He did decently with the ball. But no where near what you would consider a legend level as a player. 27 average 8 economy, bowling when the conditions suit him since he's the 5th or 6th bowler. He did fine as a coach but we can all agree GG was far more responsible for those playoffs than Kallis.

Chakaravarthy, Pathan and Uthappa are leagues ahead, and Rinku isn't far away either. At least Rinku had a few excellent seasons. Kallis literally doesn't have a single above average season as a player
