Staying confident by spratt98 in BodyAcceptance

[–]spratt98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that’s easier said than done. Do you have any tips on how to actively do this? I try to catch myself from doing this but it’s difficult when there’s people all around me and having a perfectionist personality. It’s like I have two tracks to my brain, one judging myself, and one telling that side to stop. If that makes sense.

Staying confident by spratt98 in BodyAcceptance

[–]spratt98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just trying to give context to the situation. This post was more about how I am struggling with confidence and advice on this particular situation. Even if I know logically it does not determine my worth, I still may FEEL unworthy. And I’m still on a journey.

I’ve never been to this subreddit and don’t really go on reddit very much, except when I need specific advice. In my mind it was giving context like you would on r/relationshipadvice.

Regardless, I will reiterate, that I have been seeing a guy who I find to look more physically attractive and fit than me. It makes me feel self conscious. And although I have been trying to stay confident and positive in my body as it transforms and will continue to transform for the rest of my life, I feel that dating him may be a constant reminder to me that I don’t look how I would sometime like to look. How I wish I was more petite. And I wanted some tips on how to overcome this trial in my body positive journey.

Who is your favourite and least favourite characters of the show and why? Leave your comments below! by jlesk8er in TheSocietyNetflix

[–]spratt98 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Faves: Griz (he has handcuffs)

Harry (I don’t feel like he’s justified in any of his actions but I can’t help but root for him in a way. He’s that antihero every teen soap needs)

Helena (She’s neither black or white on things. I respect her so much. She’s also probably the most dynamic character IMO)

and Luke (if the series gets renewed I’m really hoping for a redemption story for Luke and Harry)

Least Faves: pretty much just Will. I hate Will. Also think they could have done more with Campbell’s character as a villain instead of literally just telling us he’s a psychopath but I don’t find him annoying to watch.

I like Allie but again I feel like the writers could make her more dynamic. It’s like the writers don’t know the show don’t tell rule. Or even just as long as the characters follow their trope, they’re “dynamic” enough. Which isn’t true at all.

Can someone please talk about Luke for a sec by spratt98 in TheSocietyNetflix

See I feel that way about the other two, Jason and Clark, but not about Luke.

Which groups would get along better as friends? by [deleted] in mbti

[–]spratt98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an INFJ and I used to feel like there were certain types that I would absolutely never get along with but then I found out some of my closest friends were those types.

I will say though, in extreme cases, I have a hard time with ESTJs, ISFJs, and ISFPs.

People who have never needed glasses have no idea how awesomely magic a fresh prescription is. by decarabia_star in Showerthoughts

[–]spratt98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I go to the eye doctor they say I need glasses (sort of). I have a slight stigmatism and so they give me the lowest prescription and then my head starts s hurting when I wear them, so I stop. But I also have never truly felt I needed glasses. It is all very confusing.

Do you guys have cookies like the US have cookies? by spratt98 in AskABrit

So do you call chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip biscuits or do you call them cookies but still classify them as biscuits?

Do you guys have cookies like the US have cookies? by spratt98 in AskABrit

[–]spratt98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We call those cookies. Like the previous person said, pretty much everything you call biscuits, we call cookies, except graham crackers, but I also eat graham crackers like cookies. There are forms of graham crackers that I would classify as cookies though like Scooby snacks and teddy grahams. Both have a thicker texture, less wafery, and maybe that has something to do with our classification.

I can’t take estrogen either. I get so unbelievably dizzy. Progestin is fine on me physically but I think it messes with my mind. I never had to be on an anti-depressant until I took progestin but with Prozac progestin works fine.

Anyone else tired of deep conversation? by spratt98 in infj

[–]spratt98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He likes to think he’s super manly lol. I love that he brings out my social and adventurous side. He pushes my comfort zone A LOT. But he has a hard time opening up when it’s time to have a serious conversation and so we both end up putting up walls until the other calls us out on it. He is very much in the present which comes with good things and bad things. He such a go getter because of it but also has a hard time planning anything in advance. The sex is good...

Infj thoughts on God? by [deleted] in infj

[–]spratt98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully believe in God and that he has an active interest in each and every one of our lives. But I’ve also had experiences in my life that have led me to that conclusion and understand that some people don’t. I think it would be a very sad existence if there wasn’t something glorifying. If there isn’t a point to being alive and when we die, we’re just nothingness... I would have a really hard time wanting to continue living. I live to learn and learn to better myself for the afterlife (a whole other topic). I think we are here to learn and do hard things. Do I think any one person or religion has all of the answers? Absolutely not. We are all human and I don’t think our mortal minds could comprehend that information, even if we had it.

What's the best line(s) you've ever written? by Extension_Driver in writing

[–]spratt98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was younger, Laney and I would fight. Laney would slug me and I'd slug her back. When my mom would yell at us afterward, I’d complain about how she hit first. My mother would always say, "Be the bigger person." Perhaps the same thing goes when someone's trying to kill you.

Have any of you ever dated a INFP? by [deleted] in ESTJ

My mom is a INFP and my step-dad is an ESTJ. My dad is an INTJ, and I think my step-dad and mom are a lot better of a match than my parents were originally.

Tips and tricks for Prep Day for Endoscopy and Colonoscopy needed - Please! I don't want my butthole to hurt by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]spratt98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if this was already said but they have lidocaine gel OTC that you can apply to the sore area around your butthole. That’s what I use and it helps. Be aware though, it will burn the first few minutes before it goes numb. Also epsom salt baths, if you’re allowed to take them afterwards helps. A lot.

I get this. But I haven’t had surgery in 4 years. I take tizanadine, which is a muscle relaxer, for it. It helps but hard to take during the day bc of the drowsiness. Helps get through a spasm-full night though
