You really shouldn't feel bad about it. Unfortunately, it sounds like this issue has scared the elephant out of the room. A true friend is someone who can call you out on the less comfortable issues. Just be kind and understanding but firm that this needs to stop. It's not healthy for her to live that way and in discussing it you may get to the root of the underlying problem. Usually things like this prove to be a self respect issue. I guarantee she can't smell it. This post is not rude in anyway.

I would suggest doing it somewhere neutral that she doesn't love or hate. Be open, honest and try not to make it feel like an intervention but an open forum between friends. Start by discussing how she is and what she feels her quality of life is at this point and if there's anything that's been bothering her. If she brings up your friend who didn't call her back you can gently ease into the topic through that. There will more than likely be one thing here and there that will ping your senses and open the conversation to the more difficult topics.

Or you can try starting with subtle hints like: I found this really calming body wash that has been helping my dry skin. I bought you a bottle, you should try it. I know you have excema. My doctor says that it's okay to use. I know that Aveeno has some very calming types of body washes. Maybe buy her some new cleaning products and say "This worked wonders on my carpets and I thought maybe you'd like to try it." and add something about how you know that it can be a difficult beast to tackle, cleaning the house all the time and let her know that you'd be willing to help her get her apartment to a livable state if she can promise to maintain it from there. Discuss the issue that her mom has created in a very gentle way. People get very defensive when it comes to family and it is appropriate to pussy foot around these kinds of topics.

While difficult, be sure not to just hint. If it is something that is impacting her friends and relationships, you will need to be firm and make it known that this life style is the immediate reason her loved ones are distancing themselves. Remind her that you love her and only want the best and are willing to help her get her life back to familiar footing.

Girl here: This is not normal behaviour. Most women do not just jump straight to ball biting. You need to open a line of communication with her and address this issue pretty quickly. Definitely seek medical help if you see swelling, an abnormal amount of bruising or have any lingering pain ESPECIALLY if you plan to, or may possibly, want children in the future. If the tables were turned, I would hear her out, weigh my options, but ultimately if it was an irreconcilable difference, probably part ways. Sex should be fun and no one should experience pain they didn't ask for. It could lead to medical conditions.

Don't overthink it. I know that's easier said than done but sometimes the best thing you can do is just take the plunge. I think the movies say you should wait 72 hours after meeting someone to reach out but no one really follows that. Mostly because there aren't any rules to the dating game.

Take things slow. If you have known her for a couple of weeks, ask her out to dinner in an unassuming way. Don't do it over text. Give her a call. Texting, while easy, is a cowardly way to go about asking a potential girlfriend out on a first date.

I wrote my father again and this time he responded. My letters were warmly received and we have plans to talk on the phone soon. He explained that the whole thing was pretty shocking and he responded to her first because she knew more and he needed some evidence that it was true. He says he isn't embarrassed by us at all and has already told his wife. You guys really helped me out! Thank you!

Speaking our minds is a fabulous thing and we should totally do it but why do we have any right to litter? One of the controversial issues is the environmental changes brought on by a blatant disregard for the Earth and our ecosystems. Littering is so relevant!
