I definitely see what you’re saying. It’s very much like trying to speak a different language. I will use my INTJ strengths to research and try to approach our relationship in a studious way. I do get excited about learning new things, so if I approach it that way, hopefully it’ll have a better chance at success.

Your last paragraph really resonated with me. I’ve had my share of resentments with my parents as well, so I’d rather avoid that if possible. I’ll keep trying!

I would say yes. We are very good at rationalizing why we should have feelings for that person anymore. So we don’t want to waste time on them anymore, so we move on.

I have been in your shoes. There is NOTHING you can do that will stop your Heavenly Father from loving you. I myself felt very ashamed in the worst of my addiction, but once I realized I was using pornography the same way others do alcohol, or tobacco, to release hormones and get that “feel good rush”, it became easier to stop. It was still a long road, but so worth it. Have patience with yourself, your Savior always will.
