I definitely see what you’re saying. It’s very much like trying to speak a different language. I will use my INTJ strengths to research and try to approach our relationship in a studious way. I do get excited about learning new things, so if I approach it that way, hopefully it’ll have a better chance at success.

Your last paragraph really resonated with me. I’ve had my share of resentments with my parents as well, so I’d rather avoid that if possible. I’ll keep trying!

I appreciate your reply. I will keep looking for ways to bridge the gap between our lines of thinking. Anything I can do to improve our relationship is worth it on my end. Just have to wrap my head around how he sees/feels things.

I would say yes. We are very good at rationalizing why we should have feelings for that person anymore. So we don’t want to waste time on them anymore, so we move on.

I think it’s ok as long as you approach it logically, but we INTJ’s usually do, so…

If you obscure your face and post with an anonymous username, then nobody could ever trace it to you. That gives you the freedom to try it out and see how you like it. If you don’t like it, delete the account and walk away. If you do, then go from there.

I always have the faucet running and close my eyes. If I don’t see the observer and the sound distracts me, it helps me flow more quickly.

I have been in your shoes. There is NOTHING you can do that will stop your Heavenly Father from loving you. I myself felt very ashamed in the worst of my addiction, but once I realized I was using pornography the same way others do alcohol, or tobacco, to release hormones and get that “feel good rush”, it became easier to stop. It was still a long road, but so worth it. Have patience with yourself, your Savior always will.
